Queens Blvd site requires remediation
From the Queens Chronicle:
A 12-story, mixed-use development is planned for Queens Boulevard across from Borough Hall, but a ton of remedial work must be done before a single drop of concrete can be poured.
The site of a former dry cleaning business that closed last year, 124-22 Queens Blvd. in Kew Gardens will be subjected to intensive environmental remediation after a state study of the location found elevated levels of contaminants in the soil.
According to the state Department of Environmental Conservation, levels of tetrachloroethylene and trichloroethylene — industrial-strength chemicals often used as cleaning agents — up to 82 parts per million were discovered, over four times the permissible limit of 19 parts per million.

This site may be contaminated but what is really toxic is what goes on across the street in Borough Hall.
You got that right, Anonymous---Borough Hall is now so completely entrenched in corruption, graft and naked greed that it's building (and predatory cabal of self serving sycophants), is radioactive---and, more lethal than nuclear proliferation!
In fact, when it's all finally over (and nuclear destruction prevails), all that will be left on this already tonsured and ravaged earthly coil are the cockroaches, Czarina Melinda Katz and her henchmen---and, Cher (not necessarily in that order)!
They built trader hoes and other stores on toxic site and also a the school on 69th ave and Metropolitan. It's all good as long as everybody gets their cut.
I had forgotten the Redbird/Info booth. Is that still there? Another Bloomberg goof.
Queens Blvd. requires remediation.
The boulevard of death!
