Contractor hogging up the parking

"This Astoria home at 32-57 38th Street is being demolished to make room for "a new 4 story building." The builders put up a No Parking sign and placed an orange cone in the parking space in front of the house, but someone moved it to park there. No work has gone on there for several days, yet they are trying to reserve the parking space for their convenience. This is a residential neighborhood, and parking is already tight." - Jimmy

Take cone, rip off sign. No problem.

You are a braver person than me, Anonymous. I worry about security cameras and going to jail. I'd have to plan out a late night operation using a hoodie and a balaclava.

I'd take the cone and toss it right over their fence.

If there is a full demolition permit they almost certainly have DOT permits for reserving the space, they should be posted but I do not believe they have to be for NYPD to tow your car. Your move.

Good info, Anonymous. If they have this DOT permit reserving the parking space, the question becomes: how long is it in effect? No work has been done here for the past week.

I might buy that up and spruce it up and make it a nice court or a nice manor.
