Spa Castle closes

From NY1:

The city Health Department ordered Spa Castle in College Point to close all of its pools because it was not following safety standards.

The spa's owners then decided to shut the entire facility down.

It comes after a 6-year-old girl was found unconscious in one of the spa's pools on February 19.

Nah, it'll be a few weeks - Current Owners (probably a LLC or Corp) will sell to another LLC or Corp (but same principals) and the new company opens with a new name, and a clean record - they use the time to paint

Oh, and I forgot - they get to cancel everyone's memberships, and everyone has to re-up, and they make more money

Take the subway to a public school. You're almost certain to pick up at least one at either place these days.

Wow! Does this mean those (illegally registered?) vans won't be speeding through my neighborhood?

Good! I hope it stays closed! It's such a filthy disgusting place!

this nightmare needs to stay closed permanently. the quality of life has never been great in college point but itll be nice to not have to deal with all the drama that comes from this glorified whorehouse. now i can sleep in peace.

Will re-open ASAP under a new name, new tax number, and "new management".

I imagine that place is like trying to relax in a giant bowl of wonton soup

Spa Castle may be many things but it's not a "happy ending" place.

What a shame, it's a lovely place. Hope it reopens soon.

Rather disgusting concept to start with.
This is like taking a bath 10,000 people, chemicals kill some bacteria but most the shit, skin and fungus is still in the water, all over the seats, floors and getting on you. AIDs and assorted new Viruses we been seeing from Asia can survive chlorine and temperature of over 180 degrees.

Do people really pay big money for this shit ?

Isn't this Steve Chon's baby?
How come it took so fucking long to close it? Why are those Spa Castle jitney buses that run from Main Street not have commercial license plates?
I guess that the Korean campaign contributions have turned a lot of local politicians deaf and blind to the crap that was going on at Spa Castle.
Uh...Steve Chon's office is located on Northern Blvd. near 165th Street.
Doesn't he have something to do with the former Villa Bianca site too?
And how about "The One" boutique hotel in downtown Flushing?

Not a very happy ending for all of those happy endings going on at Spa Castle.
Oops...let's not upset those Asian political campaign contributors.
Where was the city council member? Did that member get rewarded for not pursuing Spa Castle?

Did a kid drown there?
