It's Forest Hills house burning season

From NBC:

A large fire engulfed a house being built in an affluent Queens neighborhood Tuesday evening, leaving behind a charred frame of a home three months into construction.

The two-alarm fire broke out at the house at 66th Avenue and 108th Street in Forest Hills, shortly after a construction crew left the site, according to the construction manager.

Video from the scene showed intense flames shooting from the site, sending up thick up plumes of smoke.

The house was being built by a Queens millionaire for his son, according to authorities. The home was three months into construction.

What's the total count now, 3 houses in the last month, plus at least one reported fire at the abandoned parkway hospital? (their was at least one prior fire there, though I'm not sure if the fire department came for that one or if the hooligans put it out themselves)

Definitely an arsonist on the loose in that area, and the press doesn't seem to be reporting on it.

what is even more interesting is that this is the third or so fire in the area in the last week or two with homes in the midst of construction "catching" on fire

Doubtless a serial arsonist has targeted the Cord Meyer section of Forest Hills: these 2 construction sites that were reported in the news, the vacant house behind the Central Queens Y on 108 and 67 Road, another construction site near Grand Central that was caught early a few days ago, and, 3 weeks ago, Parkway Hospital.

All fires started about the same time, early evening.

If you live on or near Embassy Row there, keep your eyes open. This a##hole just might light up an occupied house next.

Forest Hills is a hot neighborhood.
I just didn't think they meant literally hot:)
Some sicko is doing a number.
They better find him before something really bad happens.

Fortunately for the residents there, their firehouses were quick to respond.

A few more of these incidents and it's going to look resemble the same pattern that swept the now tony areas of Brooklyn that happened in the aughts.

It's almost like the modus operandi of a serial killer.

I don't know which "Spin" on this is the better story. Bukharian "Lightning" in which some eastern European Jew is torching homes for the insurance value. Or a"Sicko" arsonist doing it to get his jollies. There's another one I don't think anyone's thought of. Could it honestly be just accidental? A shitty contractor with lousy workers?

It could be accidental, but so many fires in the same neighborhood in such a short span of time is highly unlikely to be accidental.

I know someone in the Bukharan community and they told me over a week ago that these torchings have to be deliberate. I hope an investigation has already begun. Luckily, property and not people have been damaged so far.

RACE, CLASS & RELIGION IS AT THE ROOT OF THIS PROBLEM. IF A CHRISTIAN PERSON OF AFRICAN AMERICAN DESCENT WANTED TO BUILD AN OVER-SIZED MCMANSION ON HIS STREET, HE OR SHE WOULD BE MET WITH SO MUCH OPPOSITION FROM THE NYC BUILDINGS DEPARTMENT AND THE LANDMARKS COMMISSION. BEING THAT THEY ARE EASTERN EUROPEAN JEWS, THERE IS MORE SENSITIVITY AND ACCEPTANCE AND ARE PERMITTED TO BUILD THESE MONSTROSITIES. WHAT GROUP OWNS THE MAJORITY OF THE REAL ESTATE IN THE CITY? WHO ARE THE POWER BROKERS? EVERYONE KNOWS THE ANSWER.

probably inside job. house under construction. more money to collect insurance than try to get a bad real estate deal through. #Producers
