Shit hits the floor in South Jamaica

From the Daily News:

A leak spilling sewage across three floors of a Queens housing complex has outraged tenants and their local city councilman.

The sewage leak at the South Jamaica Houses is the latest black eye for the problem-plagued New York City Housing Authority, which took more than 12 hours just to send somebody with a mop, frustrated residents said.

The smelly sewage spill flooded the basement and the first two floors, closing the community center and forcing the cancellation of several activities.

Residents said the flooding began Sunday evening at about 6 p.m., but has been an ongoing issue for about three years.

Fed-up tenants, dissatisfied with the city's response, reached out to Councilman Ruben Wills, who chastised the agency for the mishap.

Yikes!
Worse shit flows on the streets of Flushing

Why do you think it a City problem? Has anyone thought of what the residents are throwing into their toilets? No one has addressed the possibility of items being flushed that were never intended to be.

For starters, does everyone know that wipes cannot be flushed into a toilet?

This must be Shoya's plan to create brown space to extend more below market rate housing.

No, of course it's standard procedure at NYCHA when it comes to providing maintenance for their buildings and tenants. Maybe these poor folks can show up to a glad-handing dnc fundraiser so they can get their stinking problem solved at the appropriate time.(http://abc7ny.com/traffic/subways-are-back-after-water-main-break-in-greenwich-village/642612/)

Going by the article, one can rightly assume that they only brought a mop and no bleach or other cleaning products.

This is just willful oblivious neglect. And this will just feed more cynicism in government whether from those who need it and those who criticize it and say you get what you don't pay for.

South Jamaica isn't the only place where shit is overflowing. The majority of it is coming from the mouths of the officials at NYCHA and the feigning words coming out of the mouth of Wilhelm

So I guess when I say that Jamaica is "shitty", I mean it literally.

"Fed-up tenants, dissatisfied with the city's response, reached out to Councilman Ruben Wills, who chastised the agency for the mishap."

Wow, what did Wills do, shake his finger at the agency and say "bad boy".

Ain't socialism great? In theory it says it gives a shit. I practice it really doesn't. It gives the shit to you.

DUH, technically IT IS A CITY PROBLEM, the CITY owns the housing. I doubt that throwing items down a toilet as opposed to neglect and not doing regular maintenance IS THE PROBLEM. And considering the track record of NYCHA, this time it is the CITY and not the people.
