Disgusting shitbox to no doubt replace tasteful North Flushing home

Hey Crapper,

Must wanted to make your North Flushing readers aware that the house at 161-16 33rd ave is scheduled for demolition. Below is the NYC DOB job approving the demolition. This is a beautiful center hall dutch colonial and there is no need to tear it down. It was sold on 4/10/15 for $960,000.
Link to DOB.

Here is a link to some photos of the home.

Yep more third world china moving in means more crap houses. Nothing else new. Soon all of china will be living in nyc and California and white people will just be backed up into a little hole in the wall because whites are becoming the minority in this country especially in new York shitty! I was just speaking to this Indian dude who lives in nassau county about this last night and he asked "how could white people do this to new york?" And "what's going on in america with all the white people"? And I said "it's called white genocide because the government doesn't like us anymore because we don't breed like rabbits anymore so we are being replaced". He laughed and said "I think you're right!".

It's not that they hate an attractive home, it's all about maximizing the available square feet.

Soon attractive homes like this will disappear, so take photos of them while you can.

Vincent Gianelli of Do Wrong realty is definitely one of the scum bags destroying the area. Number one is Judy Markowitz..."It's not just my business, it's my neighborhood" ? Then there is Corollo.
And Paul Vallone sits with his thumb up his ass and refuses to URGE the landmarks commission to calendar the area for long overdue historic district status. What about the house next to St. Andrews that Paulie got the church, who owned it, to sell to one of his goombahs for a cheap tear down price? Voters, you have a councilman who is in league with the devil developers. He lobbies for them, not you!

China will be eclipsed by India in about 2020 , as reported by respected economists.
Their economy is in free fall right now. Their GNP output is suffering. Hang in there. Soon China will not have the expendible cash to invest overseas like it has in the past. China is also experiencing a great internal upheaval, though they try to minimize publicity.
Workers are demanding more....money and freedom. When their outmoded totalitarian government finally withers away, China will be left with its huge makeup of hundreds of almost separate ethnic areas. What a mess. You ain't seen nothing of the corruption that's rampant in this quasi communist/capitalist megalith of a cumbersome nation. Do you realize that if Walmart cancelled all of its imports from China, the country would fall into a tailspin. Contrary to belief, China is a highly dependent nation. Without its exports it falls back. And that is what is beginning to happen. Doesn't Walmart account for about 10% of all of America's imports from China? That is a lot of power!

I can remember the area when it was heavily Irish, Geman and highly bigoted towards anyone else. Italians were not liked here.
St. Andrew Avellino Church was rebuilt in 1940 with a lot of Ronzoni family money.
Remember, the original church had father Mc Goldrick as its Monsignor.
With Ronzoni money, the Italians finally had their say.

Anonymous said...

Scotch Irish English Germans...the original "White Americans".
Unless you are a first nation tribe, which precedes America, Americans are all immigrants from another country.
American colonists referred to their mother country in the 17th century.
I'm sure a brick box will replace this home, but this is a boring example of vernacular 1920s Dutch colonial architecture that was stamped out by the hundreds. Think of all those cookie cutter ranch houses of the 1950s. These are an earlier version of a repetitive design.
Until there is a historic district established here, expect a continued rash of tear downs.

"..... I love watching nort east queens die a slow death, you liberal ass wipes elected the very people who did this to you,"

N.E. Queens "Liberal"? That is the reddest part of the borough though it is slowly changing.

Anonymous said...

No doubt you are right. I agree it's sad and I also know there is nothing that can be done about it. I wonder if it's time for "Queens Crap" to move on from these stories? They are only depressing. The die is cast. In ten years Old Queens will be gone and the place will look like a nightmare-- except to all the Russians and middle eastern immigrants who love the new look. Times change. Centuries change.

I want to hear more about Vallone and the house next to the church. Sounds like BS to me.

On another note, anyone else surprised at how small that kitchen looks?

Yeah-that house needs to go. So ugly and dilapidated.

You can still maximize your floor area in a landmark district; you just can't demolish a building as-of-right that's landmarked, and any new additions have to be approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Unless you are a first nation tribe, which precedes America, Americans are all immigrants from another country.

And EVEN this so called "first nation tribe"may not be the original North American settlers as some maintain. Check out the Solutrean hypothesis which claims that indeed people from Europe pre-dated migrants (aka "native American") from the Bering land mass.

Anonymous said...

Unfettered immigration has destroyed so much. Thanks again, liberals.

Isn't this house within the Rickert-Findlay covenant area?

Anonymous said...

Perhaps the Broadway Flushing Homeowners' Association needs a new president.
Robert Hanophy Jr. has not represented the wishes of the majority of homeowners who voted to pursue municipal landmark district status.
He has publicly expressed his personal views against landmarking at BFHA meetings. For the good of the association he should step down.
Without historic district status, Broadway will be gone in two years.
There goes your property values down the Flushing toilet!

Anonymous said...

While I do not want to see a brick box replace it, there is nothing really unique about this house.
It is a gem in a nice setting. As far as great architecture....ehhh.....I've seen better.

Anonymous said...

As long as Don Paulo "the dome" Vallone is representing developers, instead of the neighborhood, you'll be seeing a lot more of this happening.
La Famiglia Di Vallone has been running a political mafia since Judge Charles Vallone was appointed a judge in the 1950s.

Anonymous said...

I clicked on the DOB link and guess what?
The applicant's name is Huang.

Could this be the infamous TOMMY HUANG who wrecked the RKO Keith's and is responsible for erecting shitty buildings where workmen are routinely injured???

Anonymous said...

Douglas Manor is in northeast Queens.
It is certainly not dying a slow death.
Why is that?
Because it is a municipal landmark district. Their home values have risen instead of declined.
Paul Vallone is holding back the process of landmarking Broadway.
He has not raised a finger to contact the LPC.
He is public enemy #1 when it comes to Broadway's future survival.

Anonymous said...

WTF is BFHA doing?
Have they replaced some of those social tea deadheads with some new active board members?

Anonymous said...

Do you know how many Huang's there are? As many as there are Smiths. It is a most common name.

Anonymous said...

Paul vallone needs to make a public statement either in favor or not in favor of landmarking.

No more bs. Residents have had enough.

Anonymous said...

Time to move to Crown Heights historic district.
I can sell my Broadway home for one million and swap for a great Victorian townhouse with stained glass and fine architectural detail.
Face it folks. This ain't Brooklyn which has far superior architecture.
You will never see a landmark district for Broadway the way things are going.

This is a borough of petty political crooks.
We cannot even produce high caliber felons , capable of slickly committing grand larceny.
Our thieves only posess enough skill to raid a cookie jar.
We have become a forgotten borough, because we voters allow it!
How come BFHA hasn't sat on Vallone's hands to contact the LPC?
Maybe it's because Miss tea and crumpets M.B. would rather kiss Vallone's ring.
Time to show some backbone.

BFHA member said...

Hanophy is one of the weakest presidents that BFHA has had in years.
I agree. He should resign his arm chair presidency. A more robust leader is sorely needed.

B.S. About Vallone and the old house that was left to St. Andrews?
Not so! Anymore info you can follow the trail yourself.

Isn't Vallone on the finance committee or something to do with financing at St. Andrews?
We believe the house was sold for well below market value.
Highly suspect!

Anonymous said...

Absolutely correct, George. I should have said Indiginous peoples.

Anonymous said...

Ummm. Huang is like Smith. Fourth most popular Chinese surname.

Anonymous said...

LOL!
Those silly bronze Broadway recognition plaques are really doing a lot to prevent tear downs. What a wasted effort.
Only the real, genuine LPC marker will protect this fine nabe.
Those kinds of ladies auxiliary efforts go nowhere. "Precious Moments" and "Hummel" figurines go along with that type of twee nonsense.

I am sorry but this precept is what is wrong with the world today. That is, the belief that everything is 'relative'. This mindset is a disease that has philosophically infected the thought process of aesthetics and morality. It is akin to arguing Madonna is just as good musically as Beethoven. No !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There IS an objective reality. AND,.....Rickert Finlay properties ARE superior to the drek that is being put up today. I am so disgusted by Progressivism and the need to blight everything it touches. Maybe you sir or madamme ghave no taste.

Anonymous said...

True. The newly minted Chinese economic warlords want to build their dream palaces in Broadway. Why not? You would in their shoes. They do not want to be associated with the lower class Chinese of downtown Flushing. Just as Malba had become a center to predominantly high earning Italians and Italian Americans...some Greeks too.... and Cord Meyer Forest Hills to rich Bukharians....Broadway will follow suit.

The neighborhood is undergoing rapid change. You can either cash in or stick it out and learn to become bilingual.
This is the history of immigration in the big apple. There are no more real ethnic neighborhoods left in Manhattan...Germantown, Little Hungary, etc. the new ethnic neighborhoods are growing in Queens.

I really don't care who lives here, but maybe some of its unique architecture should be protected.
But you will never see a municipal. landmark district created here. There are not enough fine contiguous blocks to warrant a district. Most homes have been altered beyond the standards of acceptance from the LPC.

Broadway Flushing Homeowners Association has dwindled into a vestige that it once was, just like the neighborhood.
Their real problem is weak leadership, and a few church ladies who think that garden judging, welcome committees, and social hours will accomplish what they want. You can put names on these people yourselves.

Accept some change. Change is good. Without it we stand still. Evolution is the key to Darwinian progress.

If somebody offered me $900,000 for my humble home in Broadway.
I'd ask for a closing next month and start having the movers pack up my goods.
Hello Brooklyn. A real borough! Queens is full of cheap political vipers that steal small and throw candy money to their constituents as a boon. Paul,Vallone is your king cobra here.
He will smile and bite with that same set of teeth. He proudly strokes his dome while he banks money from developers.
When is Vallone going to hold a rally in Bowne Park demanding a landmark district for deserving Broadway?
Never! He won't even commit an opinion on it.
Sly Vallone won't ever cross his developer pals. They pay for his campaigns. You stupid voters keep believing he's your friend.

Soon BFHA will be bankrupted by Rickert Finlay lawsuits. Then there goes your last line of defense.
Once the covenants get broken enough, they will become void. Then it's really goodbye.
Time to dump your president and infuse your association with some new blood, the kind that has some fresh effective ideas on how best to
preserve the quality, if not architecture, of a fine nabe.

Anonymous said...

LOL! Those tacky plaques are some hotesse's idea of a Good Housekeeping type seal of approval.

Anonymous said...

Maybe BFHA ought to move their meeting place out of Church On The Hill.
A more modern venue might suggest they are moving along with more modern times.
When you walk into one of their public meetings, you get the impression that some old blue haired ladies picked the place.
It resembles a geriatric club, save a handful of new comers.

Anonymous said...

Like I really want a committee of commissars at the LPC to decide which replacement window is best for my historic home.
I have no problem accommodating respect to history, but not one that will cost me $1,200 per window...UNLESS...I can get a $600 rebate from NYC, the state or the feds for the extra cost of maintaining my landmark property. Isn't that fair?

Anonymous said...

Get rid of B.H. and M.B from BFHA.

Anonymous said...

If BFHA had formed its own federal 501C3 tax exempt org decades ago, they could have raised enough money to buy a home that was up for sale and insert a deed restriction to prevent tear down or extreme change and then resell it.
Now they have naught left but to beg politicians to get them their long overdue landmark status.
That's not likely to happen, no matter which Don Quixote pol come to bat for them.
It is far too late. You have been passed by. By all means, hold another rally, but do not expect much.
Go back to your drawing boards and come up with a new solution that will work now.

C'mon fella, third world China cannot afford to live in North Flushing.
Almost one million dollars for this home just to tear it down?
That don't sound like a third word buyer to me.
The Huang's are going to put at least another million bucks into building their new home.
Bitterness and bigotry has no place here.

Anonymous said...

The plaques are ridiculous. They mean nothing. Who can we blame for them? I laugh at people who have them affixed to their aluminum siding. It's preposterous. The neighborhood has changed. Get over it. This isn't Old Greenwich. It's Flushing, Queens.

Anonymous said...

I think that the queen of BFHA's social hour....M.B. ......is responsible for them.
Who is M.B. ?
You figure it out. Nobody wants to get sued for naming names....LOL!
A better idea than wasting money on tacky plaques is to place some kind of big marker near the Broadway station to indicate that the neighborhood is a national register district.
i.e.
"Welcome to Broadway, a national historic district". M.B. can even plant a ring of posies around the sign post if she wishes.

I am a new homeowner in Broadway, but I must confess , that after attending three of these association's meetings
I was hard pressed to want to continue attending.
A new form of outreach is needed for the organization to continue remaining vital. It is losing people's interest in it.
Blah, blah, blah. I have developed a case of the blahs. How about inviting each new ethnic group of homeowners to present a program on their native culture? That 's worth a try to bring new blood into a stagnant group.
They might feel that they would belong. Instead of being intruders into a white society.

Maybe the denial of municipal historic district status is based on a small portion of the inherent racism that exists here in the northeast.

I wonder if some of Vallone's mafia buddies contributed to the occasion.
The news media confirmed that Joey d'or Franco, of the Whitehouse restaurant in Whitestone was a Gambino crime family friend.
Don Vallone voted to approve Joey's expansion plans when he was on CB7.

Seems like only Queens Crap bothers to cover the awful construction that is tearing apart much of Northeast Queens. There are very few other sources of outrage on all the bad construction. Why not even a single article on this in the locals?

Travel to Seattle or Portland. Upzoning and expansion looks A LOT different. Communities are given a final say in whether or not a construction project is respectful of the neighborhood. The new buildings are big, but not "cement boxes". We could easily have that sort of development here. The utilitarian crap bozes have to go.

And BFHA, though I am not a member, is a great group. There would be no PART 150 study without them. True story.

Wait until a home displaying one of those plaques gets torn down.
That ought to prove their effectiveness.
The danger of displaying one of these plaques is that a passerby assumes that being on the national register protects a home from being torn down. Only an LPC plaque accomplishes that.
These are dumb efforts towards false security. I don't need a "pride plaque". What I need is a more forceful homeowners association.
Get rid of a president who doesn't believe in landmarking.

I've noticed some of these plaques placed on homes.
You would have to walk right up to the door to read them and look suspicious doing that.
If you placed them near the sidewalk, where they could be easily read, somebody is going to steal them for scrap value.
The whole idea was half baked from the get go.
Unfortunately , the lady who keeps hawking them, thinks they're just peachy.

Time to wake up! You have been targeted! Hiding won't help.
Plaque? Visit a dentist.

Every big sized underderbuilt property along the avenues will be built on, and much bigger. That is the future.
Bronze plaques will not prevent what is already happening. Witness south side 35th Avenue between 163rd and 164the streets.
Pride plaques are just some polite nitwit's idea of spitting in the wind. You wind up with a wad of your own spittle dripping from your face for such a dumb move.
This is war, folks. Hold out an olive branch and get stabbed with it.
Without an LPC landmark district, it is like trying to hold running water in the palm of your hand. Get with the program, Mr. President.
The problem is , some people who insist on playing politics at BFHA with pol's who are their enemies.

How can an ADA eventually become a judge, if he bucks developers desires to see Broadway remain unlandmarked?
Hmmmm! Mum is the word that is most applicable here.

One of Life's great lessons:
One man's shit box is another man's castle.
Quaint housing is not the draw to modern familes that it used to be almost a century ago.
This is 2015 not 1923.
I guess we have to be thankful that property values are not suffering, instead of mourning for a past era that's going fast.
We could be living in south Jamaica with far worse problems.
Groan...now I'm just philosophizing to cut my loses.

Valloney baloney and Avella press events.
BFHA's meek shall inherit more brick shit boxes being built.
Energize yourselves. Stop passing gut wind and dump on your councilman!
Are you afraid of the wrath of Don Vallone?
Though he might have ties with real mobsters, he is only a political mafioso,
and afraid of his own political shadow.

Wait until the Italians eventually lose control of St. Andrews and it becomes more Latino.
White Broadway will become a memory. It is already one third of the way there. Is that so bad? I don't think so.
It will become purely a matter of attrition. A lot of older people are moving and downsizing.
Some have already passed on. The future of Broadway will depend upon the new and vital creative energy
that BFHA has to bring to its aging attitudes.
Look into the mirror and be honest with yourselves. Are you as board members and members of BFHA doing what's best for the neighborhood?
How can you work smarter instead of trying to apply variations on the same old fruitless tactics for quality of life preservation?
Please, concentrate less on your plaque program and more on developing effective strategies.

Wah, wah, wah! Same old, same old!
Picture another home about to be demolished and follow the same old wagon ruts to Kansas.
ALL efforts toward getting a municipal historic district must NOW be implemented.
BFHA President Hanophy should be putting his back to this with great gusto.
Has he? Maybe an alternate Broadway civic association should be formed to pick up the slack that BFHA has left behind.
There used to be a Broadway Flushing Civic Association long ago.
Maybe it's time to become more civic minded instead of homeowner isolationist.
Anyone for starting up a new organization?
The age of Broadway entitlement was over ten years ago. You all were to busy navel gazing to notice that fact.
Let that St. Andrew's church mom continue to kiss Paul Vallone's ass. It will get the nabe nowhere.

The last time I attended a CB7 meeting, I noticed that a Vincent Gianelli is a board member.
Is this the Du Rite Realty Gianelli?

Are you, or one of your staff, reading this Councilman Vallone?

The reason that I am asking you so boldly to state your position on a public blog (which is read by thousands, maybe millions)
is that we all want to hear it...without you dancing around my question by giving me a private or evasive or expedient or political answer.

DO YOU OR DO YOU NOT support the creation of a municipal historic district for deserving Broadway Flushing?

Take note, if you haven't already, that both New York State and our federal government recognizes Broadway's importance...
both architecturally and historically.

Broadway is already a state and national historic district. It has been waiting to be calendared for an LPC hearing for years.

Do you vote YES or NO for pushing for this LPC hearing? You've remained silent for too long.

I'm signing my name so you may know exactly who I am. You or your chief of staff may respond...again, with a simple YES or NO...
here or in writing to my home. No phone calls will be accepted. No additional exposition beyond a "YES" or "NO" will be accepted either.

Dare I have the nerve to demand this? YES! Your office's silence to my request will not be taken as golden. Man up!
The readers are awaiting your response, council member Vallone.

That smiling hostess with the mostest , who gives out garden judging awards, might be responsible for those silly plaques.
We dunno. If so, she should stick to her tea and crumpets. Mind you, she's very good at that. This is a skill that is needed and appreciated.

I'm thinking of ordering one of those plaques.
Above that I will place my own reading, "What else can BFHA do"?

Over 100 comments, Crapman. Truly impressive. I think this post of yours sets the record in almost 9 years of crapping.

George, this is definitely one of the hottest topics in years. I think the one about St. Saviour's church in Maspeth being torn down beat it out with about 168, maybe 180+ comments.

Maybe it's time for me to do another funny political cartoon.
Should I Crappy? Would you like that readers?
Let's be fair and give the council member Vallone a week to respond "YES" or "NO" to my request.
I don't like gratuitous finger pointing, but my pen and ink are always ready.
Thank you.

Checked out archived Crapper St. Saviour's postings: 72 comments on one of July 2, 2009. Nothing higher in numbers.

Check out the hangman cartoon RE St. Saviour's.
I think that's the biggest #, George.

I love those beautiful bronze plaques, they are classy and represent our status as a State Historic District. If you can't afford one stop crying and hating.
BFHA works hard and they never turn down a volunteer so clearly none of you haters have ever even tried to help.
Can you even afford a house in BFHA?????
If you could then you would be singing a different tune and you would know how much BFHA cares.
I feel sorry for you freaks, why don't you pool your money together then maybe you could afford one of those plaques and take turns sharing it.

Man, That is a nice home..
So sad that is going to be teared down. Was there termite damage?
What is the zoning on that?
