More 4-family craphouses coming to Elmhurst

From DNA Info:

Developers are planning to build multi-family homes on an empty lot near new "luxury" apartments in the former St. John's Hospital, according to papers filed with the Department of Buildings.

The plot of land by Queens Boulevard sold in October 2014 to Hoffman Drive Realty LLC for $2.75 million, according to city records.

Tan Architects — who also built Elm East on Queens Boulevard, and are developing Elm West across the street — filed plans on Jan. 14 to build four homes at 57-34 Hoffman Dr. through 57-28 Hoffman Dr., off 57th Road, according to the Department of Buildings.

The homes will be four-family.

Those plans are awaiting approval by the DOB, according to an employee at Tan Architects who declined to give her name.

Let's just hope that they actually build something according to code and people actually move in soon after completion. There's a small apt building across the street from me that was never finished and has been sitting vacant (except for the squatters, and the smokers) for the past 3 years.

Look at the plans for 53-37 202 Street in Bayside that were recently approved for a full bathroom in the cellar where the builders guarantee on Schedule A Building notes for Cert of Occupancy that it won't be rented as a separate dwelling. Right it has 5 bathrooms in a 1 family house. It will dwarf the surrounding houses. At least in Elmhurst they are honest about what they are building. In Bayside the builders all claim one family and then build 4 family apartments anyway.

More housing....just what this community needs. The builders are choking our neighborhoods while our elected's sit on their butts & do nothing! What does CB#4 have to say about this?

Elmhurst is pretty much a crap house already. This former cocaine capitol of NYC will never recover...unless...the Asians who have been quietly buying in displace the troublesome Latinos.

Illegals will not be able to afford this "luxury" smack dab on the intersection of Queens and Woodhaven Blvds. It seems the term luxury has taken on an entirely different meaning since they started construction on these shit-shacks that have proliferated like a cancer along the boulevard of death.

another mini ghetto for those on some kind of housing voucher come to destroy your neighborhood. they subsidize their government benefits with drug dealing, loan sharking, prostitution, pimping, gun sales.
but let's cry for them. such victims.
they have to be relocated to nice neighborhoods to screw them up.
