Just a bit crazy

We can add this ridiculously placed illegal sign at 69th Street and Grand Ave to the "you've got to be kidding" file.

They go around with a bucket truck and slap these signs up all over the city but the city has yet to catch one. Amazing! And law enforcement is using if you see something...to stop terrorism. Hah!

They put it there because they know no one will be able to reach it and take it down. All of those signs are out of control.

They Call Themselves "Guerilla Marketers" What they are is vandals and thieves. I'm at a loss as to why DSNY won't pursue fines against these assholes. $75.00 Per instance is a fortune waiting to be collected.

Brazen and over thr top. Props.

DSNY should just call them, tell them to come and pick up their junk car, and then when they show up, slap them with a violation.

I can show you the same sign on the back of STOP signs. Why does DSNY need a 311 complaint in order to take these down and ticket these people??

How is it that these folks never get caught? If I saw a bucket ruck that did not belong to a utility company or city agency installing something on a city sign...

Paging Joe Moretti!

In all fairness the city went after Liu for the placing of his illegal campaign signage and they should go after these scoundrels with as much zeal.

City or state law should be changed to allow DOT or DSNY to orderthe telephone service provider to shut down the number (if this isn't on the books already).

we need to start cutting nuts off.

Vigilante justice is the only way to solve issues the PD wont deal with.

Everyone should just call the number and say they have a car to be picked up in all random places across the city (especially Staten Island so they get hit for the toll). Send them on wild goose chases so they don't know which calls are real and which are not. Then the cost of them doing it will not be worth it.

Let's all of us unite and stop this! Everyone who sees these illegal signs should just take a quick picture with their phone and report these signs and location to the Dept of Sanitation ( http://www.nyc.gov/html/dsny/html/contact/requests_poster.shtml ). You can report them anonymously! Let's get these people reported and fined!

Let's be vigilant and take pictures of the cars / trucks that posts these illegal signs and send them to NYPD and Dept of Sanitation. Let's get them fined and off our streets!

Next time anyone sees these bucket trucks and/or cars putting up these signs, take a picture of their license plates and send it to NYPD!

I think everyone who sees these signs should just call them to annoy them, the same way they annoy us by posting this garbage in our neighborhoods. Just call them (you can block your number by dialing *67 first and then their phone number (I dialed the number in the Queens Crap picture 516-284-9395) and hung up.

I peel these things off when i see them. I spray over graffiti when i can also. If you want something done,ya gotta do it yourself.

To the owner of CASH 4 JUNK CARS : go back and remove your illegal signs! I am going to drive around my neighborhood and report EVERY ONE of your signs to the Department of Sanitation this week if you DO NOT take them down! I won't let you ruin my neighborhood. I invite all others to do the same. Signed, Queens Vigilante.

How difficult can it be to trace the number and go find these guys?

Anonymous said...

Perhaps if our politicians did less fund raising and more work they could pass and fund legislation to end this.

You see this all over Queens, not so much in upscale areas in the city.

Missing pet and yard sale signs get prosecuted. This ubiquitous villain gets off Scot-free.

Here it is 2 years later and nothing has been done to stop these Illegal advertisers.
This quality of life issue must be addressed.
