Ognibene out

From the Queens Chronicle:

Despite circulating petitions earlier this month with his name as a candidate for state Senate, ex-Councilman Tom Ognibene will not run, GOP sources say.

Ognibene, of Middle Village, was listed on Republican petitions as a candidate for the seat now occupied by state Sen. Joe Addabbo Jr. (D-Howard Beach).

A GOP source said attorney Ken Sullivan will instead be the Republican candidate for the seat, and Ognibene’s declining the Republican nomination was reported by Capital Tonight on Tuesday evening.

Good ridence. I will never forget when at the Council hearing on lead paint he said "Children get lead paint because their mothers do not vacumne or dust enough" I almost flew off the to choke him".

Well then, how DO children get lead paint?

Mostly from lead dust. Usually from lack of repairs - can come from door, window jams, and anywhere else paint has been not repaired.

By the way, adults are also affected by lead paint but not permanent brain damage - but upper
resportary problems. DEP has available info that all landlords must supply to tenants BY LAW. Google and request from DEP.

So, if Momma uses the vacuum cleaner, there's no dust to be had. Ognibene was right.

"This guy did squat all of his years in office!"

Anon 1, You're clueless, he secured more money for this district than any council member before or after. He also successfully fought off a homeless shelter, increased taxes and was a true leader in the city council.

And are you happy that you, and idiots like you, elected Dizzy Lizzy over him? You got what you deserved.

Anon 2: Please learn to spell before posting moronic statements.

What this article failed to mention is that political parties circulate petitions for one candidate just to register the party on the ballot. They then have the right to replace the original candidate later on.

Ognibene was never really running. And the GOP source that the reporter is quoting is wrong. Ken Sullivan is also not running. Don't know where they got that name. Very poor reporting.

Ring out the old bring in the new!

I know how to spell - I guess you never heard of typos.

Obviously you are more intelligent than all the Medical experts in the World and they should have consulted you before they outlawed lead paint.

Hope you are not exhaused from all your hours (perhaps years?) of research on this subject. ears?)

The candidates name is Keith Sullivan, Not Ken. A local attorney, frequent commentator on national cable talk shows and a Deputy Commissioner for the New York State Boxing Association. But, he is not inclined to accept the nomination. He's met w/the GOP (split) leadership and he's far from impressed. Especially after a very disappointing sit down with senate leader, Dean Skelos. Very disappointed.

Run Keith run! Yaba Daba Do-Nothing Addabbo's gotta go!

Domenick Rafter, the reporter for this article, got it ALL wrong. Is this guy really an editor?

Is Ognibene really Italian?
