Nothing has changed on Roosevelt Ave

From DNA Info:

Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights is “a mecca of human trafficking” where women from countries including Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela are being sexually exploited, elected officials said Thursday.

And Queens is the center of the city's trafficking problem, with nearly 60 percent of the city's victims who come forward looking for help.

Roosevelt Avenue has a number of brothels, state Sen. Jose Peralta, who represents Corona, Elmhurst and Jackson Heights, said at a press conference where he discussed an initiative to provide foreign-born victims of sex trafficking with free legal representation on immigration issues.

“Roosevelt Avenue is a mecca of human trafficking in Queens and throughout the five boroughs,” Peralta said.

There are gangs “that are participating in bringing women from all over the world," he later told DNAinfo New York.

“They bring them right to Roosevelt Avenue,” the state senator said. “It’s really a hub and epicenter of human trafficking.”

Yes we've known about this for quite some time, yet it still hasn't been cleaned up. Why is that?

They forgot to add flushing to their long list of sex trafficking! Oh but Then again we can't talk bad about our "vibrant and diverse " residents of Queens!

Because the city is being paid off by these criminal syndicates.
How else can you explain constant daily phone calls to 911 regarding blatant visible prostitution that get ignored?
Remember a few years ago when the 109 precinct in Flushing was found to be collaborating with Chinese triads?
Sad that these things taint otherwise peaceful neighborhoods along the 7 line.

Cops are definitely being paid off. There are so many obvious brothels in flushing with the girls even hanging out in front of the bar and the cops can't do anything about it. It all trickles down from the top. Someone's getting bribed.

The solution is always easy - get off your asses and harangue those responsible - the press for covering this up with their tiresome diversity crap, the community boards that can make noise but don't, and of course the real culprit, your local elected officials who should be held accountable for ignoring this.

But then, again, you talk to everyone about their electeds and suddenly their eyes glaze over and zombie like they start repeating press releases extolling their wonderful and useful service to the community.

Soon there will be no one left to complain. The sex trade is very common in Flushing and a way of life for the new "vibrant and diverse" residents. Cash out if you can and sell your old house and move.
It's over in Flushing and we face unconditional surrender.

(snicker) You can always tell a hack's post. Its over the top racism and a push to move - so some developer can come in and pay an elected official a nice 'donation' for clearing out the community. They used to call it blockbusting back in the day.

Maybe back then it was, today it is just plain common sense.

Vallone vowed to "reclaim, restore and respect" I guess it doesn't apply all the brothels in his district.

Will "the girls" have Municipal ID cards starting next year?

Why isn't the FBI raiding the hundreds of so-called nail and spa salons??? WHY?!!! Everyone knows why they keep opening shops all over Queens. Everyone knows what's REALLY going on in these places. Start shutting them down!

Well the only other solution would be to replace them with half empty malls in Flushing. I can't even get a decent churro on Roosevelt anymore even with CitiField and their supposed great food.
