Instead of complaining, there is some very good news to share about a recent story about illegal parking in North Flushing. I am very happy to report that after an inspection by the Department of Buildings, the homeowners have removed the paver stones covering the green space in front of their home where cars were being parked illegally. In addition, the homeowners have planted a very lovely garden in front of their home. I am attaching “Before” and “After” photos.
We want to thank the homeowners at 165-12 Crocheron Avenue for being good neighbors and removing the illegally parked cars in front of their home. Their new garden has made the neighborhood even more beautiful for everyone. We especially want to thank the Department of Buildings and Councilmember Vallone’s office for their diligence and support in resolving this problem in North Flushing. Grateful homeowner in Broadway-Flushing.

Lol.... atleast they tried to do something with the paving, however, this is a Poor looking garden.

Good news and it looks much better.
See it can be done, when concerned citizens ACT and laws are enforced. But why does it rarely happen?
A big problem is the first line of defense, local elected officials who do so very little for their communities, they are just always in prep for the next election and nothing else.

The owner wasn't even smart about it. If you're going to put down paver stones at least put up a high fence to hide what you're doing.

They're now using the former flower bed to dispose of refuse.
Right next door is an illegally operating hardware store,
which has been in business for months.
No commercial operations are permitted in this section of a residential neighborhood.
Is anyone on top of this? Uh, councilman Vallone?
It was the Broadway Flushing Hmeowners' Association that pushed to get the job done.
Now get something done about the hardware business to the right. It violates NYC zoning.
