Miss Heather asks a good question

From New York Shitty:

Lest any of you are wondering what this is, it is the “Ed Shed”. The “North Brooklyn Boat Club” (via Open Space Alliance North Brooklyn — remember the latter handles money for the previous) secured a $25,000 grant for this educational facility. Yes, you just read me correctly. This structure will feature a “Sewer In A Suitcase”, material/date about water quality and various art projects for the edification of school groups.

How is it that an “educational facility” located on private property (which is under lock and key) can receive a $25,000 grant (and assistance from our local parks conservancy group) and public park whose fence was seriously damaged ten months ago is seemingly not worthy of attention — much less the funding — required to conduct repairs and routine maintenance?

Nice reporting!

So who awarded the 25K? What did the proposal look like? Is it online for public inspection?

Can we expose the group and the politician for the corrupt assholes that they are? And then can we rinse and repeat?

I think that more and more we need to demand transparency on how our taxes are being spent.

A small handful of groups get almost all the funding - they need to start their own fund raising before the public - let the public decide what they want.

It also looks like commercial set building going on at that place.
I recognize some of the equipment and props and its COMMERCIAL.
Taxpayers are footing the bill so $$$ commercial movie & TV industry can have free space ?

I don't know if they are stealing from the city just to film their crappy movies and hulu/netflix shows,or just a place to hang out.
