Peter Vallone Jr., the former three-term City Councilman and longtime chair of the Public Safety Committee, is joining Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration as a special assistant to the state’s corrections commissioner.
Vallone has an extensive law enforcement background. He's a lawyer by profession, worked as a former assistant district attorney, and chaired the public safety committee from 2002 to 2013.

One of the reasons they are doing this is to give Lil Petie something to do - and even more important, out of the neighborhood so he stops making trouble for everyone.

Which is more important as the reason for this appointment - his "law enforcement" background or the fact that he's Italian?
Its really no big deal.....his brother Paul did the same thing for a couple of years. Ask them what they do and you will get some textbook bullshit retoric about nothing. Looks good on a resume while you wait for your next chance at politics. Stop with the "law enforcement background"....he's not law enforcement.
