All they have to do is take a walk along Selfridge and peer down the driveways of a few houses that line the earthberm to see what a ridiculous impossibility this idea is.
Cost: $0.00.
When the line was built in the 1880s, I'm pretty sure there wasn't the density we have now, along it. It would be quite the engineering feat to rebuild this line from scratch between the backyards of Rego park.
I wonder what sort of easements and access requirements are in the deeds of the properties adjacent to the RR right of way that have not been enforced in over 100 years.

With a grant from taxpayer money of about $50,000-$150,000. Can't these things be done internally by people on the city payroll
Anon No. 1: And where does the money for the city payroll come from?
Queens College is well connected.
Makes sense as most colleges get their credibility from research and teaching, but, again, this IS Queens.

Adverse possession anyone?
Yea. Let a college freshman decide...
To hell with the professional, licensed engineers, architects and environmentalsts. Who needs them anyway?
Anon No. 6: Considering what the engineers and architects have come up with lately, the Freshman may have better ideas.
