Little Neck LIRR staircase in bad shape

"The station overpass at Little Neck was given el cheapo plywood railings, which are falling apart already. Someone is going to get a handful of splinters from this.

I plan on bombarding Lex Luthor Vallone with this stuff when he assumes." - anonymous

Being made of wood, a ventriloquist's dummy would just love getting all those wooden splinters.

H-m-m-m-m...come to think of it...Don Paulo Democratic clubhouse political mafioso stooge Vallone...looks like a dummy himself.

Waddaya think? Do you see him sitting on someone's knee (Virginia Joe Crowley's) mouthing words..."Yadda, yadda, yadda"...the clubhouse mantra?

Careful not to pick up any splinters in your polished dome, Mr. Vallone.

Give that shabby Vallone act the hook 4 years down the line, if we survive the 4 years!

Queens stations have never been a concern of the LIRR ... period.

Very true, last poster!

That's why Queens' LIRR riders pay a premium fare, compared to the fares of other Long Islanders, traveling much further distances.

We, in Queens, underwrite their lower fares.

Now, if this we the Great Neck Station it would be another story.

That high concentration of wealthy Iranian Jews (the second largest in the country) would never put up with this kind of crap.

Ah, the vast difference between East Egg and West Egg. Did I get that spelling correct, Mr. Fitzgerald?

Did the thought that this may be a temporary handrail ever cross anyones mind? I have never seen wood used as a permanant handrail. Maybe the final product hasn't been delivered. Food for thought.

What difference does to make if it's temporary or permanent if it's a hazard?

Queens stations have never been...

I beg to differ. The Broadway Flushing station was recently cleaned up, homeless taken away and new air conditioner purchased for the waiting room. All because people in the community took the time to document what was wrong and inform the proper authorities.

You have to do more than complain.

And with what's come into City Council you better start looking after your community yourself.

Forgot to post follow up...Tony Avella wrote a letter to LIRR president Helena Williams the day I originally posted this.
