Willets Point landowner educates public on the project

Willets Point United's Gerald Antonacci teaches a "master class" concerning the changes to the proposed Willets Point development since 2008, including the free give-aways of tax dollars and properties to developers Sterling Equities and Related Companies, the suspicious delay of the housing component that was previously said to be the linchpin, and the addition of a 1,400,000 square foot "Willets West" mall to be built on mapped parkland. Essential viewing for civic-minded Queens residents.

Bravo to Mr. Antonacci for exposing how the proposed Willets Point project is being manipulated to benefit the Wilpons and developers Sterlng/Related, at the expense of we, the taypayers. The proposed development is a sham that needs to be sent back to the drawing board. Hopefully this video wakes up some people.

Yet another well done , informative video.

Excellent Jerry and again thank you Robert for producing these extremely poignant and important Queens based videos.

Criminals like Claire Shulman belong in jail!

What does Wellington Chen, the elusive Oriental, get out of the crooked Willets Point Wilpon scheme ?

He's been pictured with "granny" Shulman often enough to be her partner, and the Wilpon's.

KEEP THE HEAT ON, JERRY !
A project delayed is a project that dies.

Bloomberg, Shulman and the lot, will be gone soon, in one way or another.

Kick their asses until they leave!

jerry great job!!! how can the community board vote in favor of this? does the corruption go from the bottom to the very top? how is it that the other developers didn't file a lawsuit because they were shut out from building on citi field property because it was under the mets control? what a brillant scheme to steer the bid to the mets!! only 1 developer could put a bid in like that and guess who it was? brillant!! yes where are the feds

What do we care what Willets Point "looks" like? Seriously. No one save for one person lives there. It's not a destination unless you have a business there or want car parts. It doesn't have to look pretty. Unless you are a Wilpon I doubt you are losing sleep over how it looks. And it would look a lot better if they city maintained it as it is supposed to.

There is a misconception, that the proposed sham development is the only way to improve the appearance of Willets Point. It is not. It is within the City's power to stop withholding essential services from the area -- to repair and pave the streets, connect the new sewers to the area, and so on. If the City did so, market forces would naturally lead to improvements. The City administration specifically does not want that to happen, because it prefers to deliver all of the property to the Mayor's chosen developer -- together with the sweetheart deals and grants of taxpayer funds that are explained in this video.

yes millions paid over the years and nothing delivered..its great to tell lies in order to forward your agenda of giving the mets free property and money..give the people streets and sewers the zoning has already be changed, have everyone test their property and if needed it must be remediated or the city will do it and charge the land owner for doing it and if they don't pay you take their property..there's many ways to avoid this scam and scheme being perpetrated by the mets and the city..like the video says billionaires for billionaires and regular people mean crap in this city

Yes! More Retail space!!! Many people shop online to avoid sales tax, parking fees and the price of gas.......

Why are you goons so allergic to industry instead of retail? We have the smartest kids in the state, even the country. Why should they move away to get jobs?

Anonymous said...

Move away? Why? We got plenty of welfare, parks, lawyers, accountants and further casuists to tie you to the land. You ain't going nowhere. We need your vote.

Who has money to move away? Maybe if they got back the 260 million they gave wilpon so far and gave it to the people of queens instead by investing in businesses instead of killing them we"d have a future
