Renderings of giant soccer stadium released

A couple of not-so-pleasant surprises from our friends over at Save Flushing Meadows-Corona Park:
  1. The Wilpons are likely building their own power plant as well as a sewage treatment plant as part of the Willets Point project.
  2. The design for the secret MLS soccer stadium (that has no team) has been revealed, and it is quite gargantuan and ugly.

Where did this rendering come from. And where, how can we see it? ~NFP.

Ahh. Queens. How lovely you are.

The pols sit on their hands when it came to adding park space at St. Savior's and now it seems that they are throwing established parkland at politically connected corporations like the USTA, the Wilpons and now the Soccer imoperialists.

It's about time the politicians declare parks to be sacrosanct, parkland forever.

Brooklyn is being force fed Markowitz's
giant potato chip.

If this to be Queens space saucer, then let's send Shulman to the moon on it.

"BANG...ZOOM"!

Donald Manes' plan for turning FMCP into a sports complex appears to be still on the table.

He may be long gone, but his ghost of a plot still haunts Queens, and a few of his old operatives are still around.

It's the Flushing Meadowlands Corona Park.

That would look awesome right in the middle of Central Park.

I passed by the MLS stadium in Newark last weekend. It is the ugliest god damn thing I've ever seen. This thing blights the entire city of Newark... and that's saying a lot.
