Ulrich announces State Senate candidacy

From the Daily News:

Queens City Councilman Eric Ulrich announced [yesterday] morning his bid to take on Democratic Sen. Joe Addabbo through a YouTube video.

“I will be a state senator that never stops fighting for the middle class,” Ulrich says in the video released just after 10 a.m. this morning. “I’ve watched too many of my friends and relatives pack up and move out of New York because they simply could not afford to live here any longer.”

The video was posted to Ulrich’s new website, which launched this morning as well.

Ulrich, considered a rising star in the New York City Republican ranks and a councilman for the last three years, does not mention same-sex marriage or even his potential fall opponent.

Instead, he focuses on middle-class and business tax cuts. He also says he would push for “investment” in higher education so “young people” like him can stay in New York.

Don't you think that Ulrich has even higher ambitions? I think he's a possible future for the GOP, since like Rubio he may bridge to another generation of conservatives. Indeed, I think the Eric Ulrich I know could be a real draw for new blood. But, that said, I think anyone who votes for him should be ready to see him abandon his post for a congressional seat when the opportunity arises.

Ulrich is Romney's Campaign Manager on the East Coast. look at how much he's done for Rockaway Beach, his constituency. NOT!

These guys are always in election mode.
They don't have time to do any work for their constituency
because they are so caught up in trying to stay employed ...

Ulrich hired convicted felon John Haggerty's brother, Bart. Real judgment there.

John wasn't arrested until after Bart was hired, and why is one brother considered to be the other's keeper?

The boy is rumored to have close ties to Danny boy . What does that make him?

Considering how much life has been deteriorated in NYC because of Democratic rulers, one must be crazy not to vote any republican that comes away. If anyone makes a connection between the problem this city/state has and the elected ones...

Close ties to Halloran? They can't stand each other. Try again.

Watch Sal Baccarella and John Watch lay down palms as Ulrich is continually invited into N.E Queens\ Ragusa's backyard as some sort of hero.

He'll be campaigning together with Danny boy and will be supporting him. As for brother Bart, he's the guy who ended up with Bloomy's money in HIS pocket. John BOUGHT out Bart's share of a house.

"John wasn't arrested until after Bart was hired, and why is one brother considered to be the other's keeper?"

Because Bart got 1/2 the money?

And? He was not charged with a crime.

Eric Ulrich will take down that do-nothing clubhouse hack, Joe Addabbo. His office is useless. Ulrich is bright, articulate and has energy. The idiots making negative comments on this blog about Ulrich are so desperate that they are inventing things.

the "idiots " will continue their demonization of any non -lib/dem/progressive candidate in Queens County.

they have "THE ILLNESS".

Ulrich is a player in Republican hackland.

He is not a friend of Halloran? True! But he is a friend to those hacks at clear view whomhave done nothing in the community and get no respect from the queens GOP.

Eric is clearly pro-life, against same sex marriage and proud of his religous beliefs. His election will help send the mesage that we have allowed our culture to become too permissive and ready for a restoration of traditional American family values.
