From the NY Post:
New York City taxpayers are sending up to $6 billion more to Albany than they are getting back, according to a study released yesterday.
Acting on a request from the Citizens Budget Commission, the Rockefeller Institute at SUNY Albany ran the numbers from the state’s 2009-10 fiscal year and found that the city accounted for 45.1 percent of state income taxes, but received only 40 percent of state expenditures.
The results were even more lopsided when tax collections were allocated by place of work, meaning that suburbanites who commute to jobs here were counted as city taxpayers.
Under that scenario, the city coughed up 48.7 percent of state income taxes.
The city’s shortfall in the exchange was estimated at a maximum of $6.1 billion and a minimum of $4.1 billion.

Johnny's loo?
Yep, nothing new here...oh, and for thanks -those hicks HATE us.
"People's Republic of New York"
"Jew York"
Back when the slogan was "Fun City" the hicks called us "Fag City.
...And the ever popular "Niggerville".
When we would mention to those types that we live in Manhattan the response was often "eww, how can you live there" "its so dangerous" and "all those niggers" etc.
This while their own kids were huffing glue, smoking dope, driving drunk (often w/out licenses)and banging in the plentiful cat houses.
Beautiful scenery. Shit people.
I'd cut them off at the northern Westchester border and let their gop patrons worry about their dying towns.
It's certainly no fun being on the giving end of wealth redistribution instead of the receiving end, is it? Progressive city people being hoisted on their own petard. Oh the irony!
That shortfall must be returned to the city or lower our State taxes.
