Payback for Brian's mom

From the NY Post:

The feds have agreed to pay back the $145,000 that crooked ex-pol Brian McLaughlin scammed from his widowed mom.

Court papers filed yesterday say Manhattan federal prosecutors believe Ilene McLaughlin "will be able to establish by a preponderance of the evidence" that she didn't know the dough she loaned her wayward son would be forfeited as part of his corruption case.

The former Democratic assemblyman from Queens borrowed the money against his luxurious second home on Long Island's exclusive North Shore shortly before he was indicted in an epic, $3.1 million rip-off scheme.

McLaughlin is serving 10 years in the slammer for swindling taxpayers, political contributors, his former union and even his local Little League, from which he looted $95,000.
