What a great article. The railroad spur between the main line and creedmoor actually lasted until the early 1970's. I can remember them taking down the steel railroad bridge over Jerico Turnpike and little neck parkway, probably around 1972. It joined the main line at the floral park lirr station.

I drive on this road many times during the week... thanks for filling me in on it's rich history... who knew?
