omg - a baby carriage could not fit through either side of the pole - a fatty too would have to walk in the street!

This is the typical NYC stupidity at it finest. "They told us to put the sign in the middle of the sidewalk and so we did it."

What about a wheelchair bound citizen who has to go into the street AT A BUS STOP to get by!

Hope your following this blog DOT.

Just a thought, but there's an excellent possibility that the fence that you see on the right side of the picture is actually on city property. I've come across quite a few of these instances where the homeowner has creeped past their own property line.

On the northwest corner of Moline Street and Braddock Ave is a perfect example.

No it's definitely not "Rick".

There's a repeat of this mid sidewalk bus stop sign fiasco at the next eastbound Q28 stop.

This is the new DOT policy, the same exact thing has been done in Maspeth. A couple had a light pole placed 4' from the curb, right in the middle of their sidewalk. DOT was called numerous times and said that is the new policy. Maybe on a 12' wide sidewalk, but that's a rarity. I wish someone would investigate these new rules that took effect over 2 years ago. Good job DOT!
