NYPD response times on the rise

From the NY Post:

Downtown Brooklyn and the Bronx neighborhood around Yankee Stadium saw notably longer response times to "critical" calls in the last three months of 2009, according to NYPD data.

Citywide, some 34 police precincts saw longer response times.

Although many precincts saw only slight increases, others had more significant spikes in average response times, including a 33-second increase at the 76th Precinct in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, and a 27-second jump at the 44th Precinct in Highbridge, The Bronx.

Overall response times remained steady, and 42 precincts actually saw decreases.

Sounds like a good time to gut the police force even more.

Mayor Mikey's minions have also stopped updating information on Quality of Life indicators like blocked driveways, noise, and illegal parking on the My Neighborhood Statistics web page. Last update was in Sept. Accompanying maps and tables are even further out of date. Also intriguing is that on the page with police year to year data on the same website response time for fiscal year 2009 was omitted.

The times will go even higher as they are expected to do "more with less".

Interesting that September was around the time that Bloomie was pretty much assured his third term with no real resistance. I gues he no longer feels the need to placate the voters anymore.

The emperor has no clothes, crime is really up, quality of life is deteriorating, and the number fudging continues. NYPD is also slower to post their Comstat crime statistics these days each week. Must need more time to "adjust" them.

My big ass Alsatian is always hungry for some ghetto dude's nuts!

"Welcome" to my fire escape window!

What's left of the intruder makes a great stew for Fritz (that's my dog's name) for days to come.
(The rest we freeze).

He hates canned food.

I know I spoil him.
