Barbie's dream home is in Glen Head

From the Daily News:

Queens Assemblywoman Ann-Margaret Carrozza pulled her Mercedes up to her brick mansion recently after a long day at work.

Her husband and one of her two sons were outside, along with the family's black Lab, Stanley. With the stately manse as a backdrop, the petite, blond lawmaker and her family could have been modeling for an L.L. Bean catalogue.

There was one problem with the pretty picture: Carrozza's $1.8 million home is in tony Glen Head, L.I. - 15 miles from her district in Bayside, Queens.

Carrozza, 42, who has represented the 26th Assembly District since 1997, bought the mansion on Nassau County's Gold Coast in June 2008, taking out a mortgage for $1 million, property records show.

She told the Daily News the lavish digs were supposed to be "an investment or a second residence." But she signed mortgage documents that specifically state the mansion would be her "principal residence."

When confronted outside the posh pad last week, Carrozza admitted she has lived there full-time since February.

Just think that we taxpayers pay this airhead's salary! Can anyone name one piece of legislation that she sponsored or one activity that would benefit the community? I did find this:

Carrozza Sponsors “Valentines for Veterans”

Where does she stand on the issues that affect this community such as the Willets Point project, overdevelopment, traffic, infrastructure issues, and other things that concern my neighbors and me?

Now it is revealed that she is too good to live amongst her constituents!!?!?! Oops. What next? Are the people of North Queens so brain dead that they accept these insults by elected officials? I guess so. After all, the media tells us that everything is fine and that we should look the other way. Thank you Crapper for keeping it real.

I can only hope that people start taking their blinders off and see what is going on around them. Are you a Flushing #7 line rider? Happy with the overcrowding? Get used to calling this the good old days when all of the new residential developments are completed and even more people will be competing for your space on public transportation or your children's space in a NYC classroom. Good luck with that!!!

In conclusion, what is being done on the federal, state, and local levels to assure us of the quality of life that we are entitled to? Elected officials like Carrozza are self-serving and need to be replaced by people who actually give a damn!!!

"Carrozza admitted she has lived there full-time since February."

Doesn't that make her a full time liar and tax cheat?

ann your f- useless

That's the point. She IS out of town!!! Let's just hope that she stays there!

PS She's also out to lunch.

Let's take a poll.

When was the last time you actually saw her in the district she represents at an event that was NOT a political fundraiser?

I vote for:

Yes. So she'll be resigning her seat soon?

She had to have known this would come out. She obviously didn't care.
She represents Bayside, but it's not good enough to live in?
Very nice.
Carrozza, you can't leave fast enough.

I was told she would be stepping down soon for a private sector job.

Why the personal vulgar comments?

She is useless and undedicated but let's not go further than that.

What she should have done was step down first instead of having the Daily News expose her. Not a good way to go out.

Anonymous said...

I agree italiangirl, but to someone like her this is just a stepping stone in her life and she truly does not care if she is loved by her community.

Being a former elected official is very desirable in private sector companies.

It's time for Ann to send Shelly Silver the same type of letter that Fat Tony Seminario sent Shelly last week. Attorney General Cuomo should sue Ann to get back any salary she received as a Member of the Assembly, representing Bayside, from the date forward on which she signed the mortgage documents for the Glen Head home.

Anonymous said...

Yes but now she looks dishonest. And everyone I know thinks she's good-for-nothing, always a no-show at events and has done NOTHING for Bayside.
Good riddance.

Give her assembly seat to Paul Vallone. That would be one problem out of the way.

She makes her professional living as an attorney specializing in elder law, and her job in the Assembly is only something she dabbles in to enhance her legal credentials.

Why the personal vulgar comments?

Why not? It's half the fun of reading the comments here. Are you a newbie or are you Ann in disguise? What was vulgar about any of the comments associated with this story? Why do you bring this up here and not anywhere else on the Queens Crap blog where commenters really went to town? Another troll is outed!

The Vallone$ have their summer house on the shore, and Team Gioia their home in the Hamptons.

It seems that our elected officals have no interest in the communties they are supposed to serve.

We are merely opportunities to make money and build resumes.

Whatever we do, like voting on term limits, they ignore us. The divide us pitting one against the other (Sunnyside Gardens) and only listen to those they want (illegal day laborers accross Queens will get their shape up centers while annoying quality of life middle class will not get better sanitation, follow up on noise complaints, sewers, or even schools for their kids)

She attended a past meeting of the Broadway Flushing Homeowners Association where she gave a discourse on elder law amidst an aging mostly "white" audience which typifies the makeup of such simply meetings.

That bleached blond ghoul was
trawling for clients.

And as soon as she was done...out in a flash!

She's going to step down?

WTF...how about prosecuting the bitch and getting her disbarred?

Let her return all of the salary she stole while misrepresenting us in the Assembly!

And wasn't her father a judge?

He must have been crooked too!

I believe she as Hevisi's babysitter.

Starting to age...

Starting to age...

And not well (Oops another vulgar comment?). If she does step down, what are the procedures to replace her?

"Starting to age..."

Actually, this photo that Crappy used (from the Daily News website) is better than the one in the print edition of Sunday's Daily News. The one that they used in the Sunday paper has Ann-Margaret with her eyes closed and gesturing towards her car and/or house. She looks awful. (Nothing vulgar in these comments.)

Out of all the posts on all of the topics that the Crapper prints, why does someone bring up vulgarity on this one? Weird, huh? Believe me, there has been far worse by commenters. Can anyone please explain what was considered vulgar here? Perhaps this: "ann your f- useless"? Thank you.

She's hot!

Time to buy her and Espada maps. Eat your own cooking, why should you care what happens to your constituents if you live somewhere else.

Buy her a nice new carpet bag!

Leave all the personal appearance comments aside. BUT FOCUS ON THE FACT THAT BAYSIDE ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR HER. Good for the person who exposed another lying, arrogant politician who thinks they are smarter than the people they represent.

I'm reading that she has four law offices in Queens and Long Island. My question is :Isn't representing the taxpayers of the 26th Assembly District supposed to be a full-time job (earning over $80,000 a year)? Exactly what is she doing as Assemblywoman if she is running four law offices. Additionally, anytime you drive by her Assembly office here, you do not see her car. When you do see her car in Bayside, it is outside her law office. It certainly appears that her assembly position is simply part-time, and that is being generous..
