Helping wounded warriors

From MYFOXNY.COM:

Imagine returning home, seriously wounded, and then having to get your life back together. You would think America's troops would be looked after very carefully. Fox 5 has found that is not always the case. A new bill headed for Congress would mean the Department of Veterans Affairs will be forced to change the way it does business.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., is proposing a bill to force the VA to individually notify veterans of the services they are entitled to, show them how to get it, and cut the amount of required paperwork.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors in three ways:

1. To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women.
2. To help severely injured service members aid and assist each other.
3. To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.
