Sob story will get you in Section 331

TAKE ME OUT TO THE SAD GAME
By JAMES FANELLI, NY Post

A Mets season-ticket holder is soliciting sob stories from fans who can't afford seats at the new Citi Field and is giving away ducats to those deemed most worthy.

Computer programmer Bill Soistmann is offering up his pair of $75 seats in Section 331 along the third base line on a Web site he set up earlier this month, www.getmetstickets.com.

"My motivation is to see the tickets in the hands of people who can't afford to go," Soistmann told The Post. "These games are going to be things that people are not able to do anymore."

One of the 50 hard-luck fans responding to the site wrote of facing foreclosure. He asked to give "my boy a small memory like my dad did for me."

God bless him. A man with a heart. Some families going through a rough time will thank him this year.

In my parish over 1000 families are visiting the local emergency food kitchen. Perhaps some Botanical Gardens or home gardeners can set some land aside for emergency food production too.

If you can't be an athlete, you can always be an athletic supporter.

I think the biggest sob stories are coming from all the saps who followed these overpaid losers for years and supported them feverishly with season tickets, and then got to see how the Mets franchise rewards loyalty, through the crappy seats they received (or still haven't received) this season.

Tickets arent that expensive, I bought a 15 pack of tickets and it averaged to about $20 a ticket. Pretty reasonable if you ask me, concessions on the other hand are a different story.

$20/ticket is reasonable? You can watch it for free on TV. I used to sit in the bleachers at Yankee Stadium when I was a kid for 75 cents.

And he had to buy 15 of them to get that price. If you buy $300.00 worth of anything you should get a break.
