Signs of the times are costly

So we know replacing the signs for the Triboro Bridge will cost $4 million, but how about the subway and street signs for Citifield? How much will they cost and who's paying for them?

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

I don't think the 20 million per year included advertising on NYC roadsigns. The city should just put "Mets Ballpark" or "Baseball Stadium" on the road signs instead of having to change them everytime a naming rights partner goes belly-up.

A short term solution would be to drop "Shea" and leave "stadium".

biggie smalls is paying-- rename it biggie smalls field

This goes to show that for the RIGHT people there is always the RIGHT money.

Cutbacks on schools, close the firehouse, but give a developer a tax break and the tax revenue to underpin their project.

name it monster-rat field or pinsky park

Call it "wish we still had the money for the budget and just fixed up the old historic stadium but bloomterd rammed it through field".Why are places here going bankrupt keeping the same names?

Enron field is a pretty name.It represents how to get it real good.

The Triboro Br. change should not be put into effect unless private donations for the renaming is provided.

Heck - did you ever see subway and street signs for Juan Bodega especial? So - don't have signs in the Subway or otherwise unless the stadium owner pays for it!

Let the Kennedy family pay for the signage. I don't think the name of the bridge should have been changed from Triboro anyway.

Who gives who the right to do these things? They certainly are not asking the taxpayers who wind up paying for it.

It was the Kennedy family who had the biggest hand in pushing for the immigration act of 1965 that led to NYC's slumming and bankruptcy in under 10 years.

How dare this bridge be named after those Beantown assholes!
Will they re-name the Brooklyn bridge or Empire State Building next?
This should have been a public refarandom

I will always call it the Triboro. The Kennedy mob already had an Airport in Queens re-named.

Yes, the new name for the Brooklyn bridge is The Brooklyn Brewery Bridge and the Empire State Building will be renamed the Empire Kosher State Building. LOL
