If at first you don't succeed...
Just as Social Security has been described as the third rail of federal politics, imposing tolls on the East River bridges — an idea that has again been revived as the Bloomberg administration seeks to plug a growing budget deficit — is the third rail of New York City politics. A ride through The Times’s archives shows that the debate over bridge tolls has gone on for decades, going back further than Social Security itself.
The history shows that officials have failed again and again to revive tolls on the four bridges. (Other major crossings, including the bridges run by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, already charge tolls.)How East River Bridges Stayed Toll-Free

If King Bloomy can give himself a third term, he can sure as hell impose tolls on our bridges.
Hey didnt Arnie the gov push out Grey Davis because they had a deficit in California?California still has a huge debt like most states now and Arnie is a joke of course. According to Wikipedia info: Backers of the recall effort cited Gray Davis's alleged "lack of leadership" combined with California's weakened and hurt economy. According to the circulated petition:
[Governor Davis's actions were a] "gross mismanagement of California Finances by overspending taxpayers' money, threatening public safety by cutting funds to local governments, failing to account for the exorbitant cost of the energy, and failing in general to deal with the state's major problems until they get to the crisis stage."
We now know Enron was resposible for the rolling blackouts, not davis.Theres audio of employees laughing about it from court hearings.Looks like bloomie needs a little nudge out the door.Special session vote to remove him sounds great dont it.There must be maybe 3 million folks or more in NYC who see his nonsense clearly I hope.
People that make lots of money in finance are, for the most part, simply lucky.
They graduate at the right year, or just happen to have the right contact or being at the right place at the right time. Smart clever people are dime a dozen at a certain level. At some point luck just takes over.
They mostly simply fell into shit.
The bottom line is there is really not anyting special about them. Having lots of money simply cushions them from the real world.
Of course this luck makes them fancy themselves superior to others. But they usually just come across as tiresome and pendantic, just like Bloomie.
Usually they wake up to the real world when they are terminal, and need the kindness of some person they would sneer at to tuck their robes around their cold feet.
The toll imposition will become Bloomie's bridge to nowhere!
Maybe he can date Governor Palin
Mike 'n Sarah...two of the most deranged egos in the USA!
