Ellen Young ready for her primary

Ms. Meng is trying to follow a time-honored tradition in New York politics by making elective office a family enterprise. Her father was the first Asian-American member of the Assembly. Mr. Meng served one term and declined to run for re-election, citing health reasons.

Accident Won’t Deter Queens Assemblywoman

This is his daughter’s second attempt to run for the Assembly. Her race two years ago was derailed when Ms. Young successfully challenged her residency. Since that time, Ms. Meng has acquired an apartment in the district and has emphasized her ties to the community center that she manages in the heart of the 22nd Assembly District.

It not a primary between two candidates it is a war between two countries.

Mengs moneys is coming from China

Youngs from Tiawan

All the developers which are destroying every tree lined block in Flushing are coming from China and Tiawan

There you have it two asian countries fighting over land, not theirs ours.

Free America from these dictator countries.

Well, like Willets Pt where the real issues are now gone, and its the machine (Asian development) vs the insurgents (Hispanic development)

So Young rents (or acquires) an apartment in the district in order to legally qualify and satisfy the Board of Elections.

It's an old Stavisky trick.

If I had my way a candidate would be required to have already lived in their district for at least a decade before tossing their hat into the political ring!

Otherwise they're nothing but newbie carpet baggers as Ms. Young definitely is!

It's time to rename Flushing
New China!

It already smells like it !

And it's a good thing that the month of August hasn't been as hot as usual otherwise Flushing's "fragrance" would be much more intense!

It's a good thing that the Asians are in control of Flushing.

They're driving out the Blacks.

Wasn't that the original intention
of the likes of Myra Baird Herce , the Flushing Chamber of Commerce, CB#7, certain lending institutions and the other various gangsters lurking in smoke filled back rooms some 25 years ago?

Read the article more carefully. It's Meng with the residency, voter fraud and lack of experience.

I have no problem with Grace Meng running for office, since it will be up to the voters to either elect or reject her, so I don't think it's accurate to describe it as a family enterprise. A family enterprise is when the elected official dies, and everyone feels sorry for the spouse and gives her the job.

Sure, I will think of this everytime I see Bush Junior.

Grace ran her father's campaign when dozens of voters were registered in a book store Jimmy Meng owned. Word on the street was that if Jimmy ran for reelection he would be going to jail for voter fraud.

in 2006 when Grace tried to run for his seat she was forced to withdraw when it became clear that the court would rule her off the ballot because she did not have a legal residency in the district.

Now the money is pouring into her campaign from overseas investers connected with her father.

China is buying Flushing

Young, Meng.... what's the difference...."they" all look the same don't they ?

And they're out to displace whom they refer to as the "ghost people" ..."white" folk, or occidentals if you prefer. (We already know how "they" feel about African Americans.

Now how's that for some classic racism (ha, ha, ha)?

I meant Meng....Dr. Stu....got sidetracked.

Thanks for the correction.

But dual residency is still an old Stavisky trick that's been well played by many other politicians
we can name.
