Silvercup still stalled

…it has also been confirmed that the practice’s 185,000m2 Silvercup Studio complex on the Long Island City Waterfront is on hold. The $1 billion (£500 million) mixed-use development, which won approval in mid-2006, has stalled due to issues over protracted land sales and the delayed removal of power plants from the site.”

Silvercup Studios putting the brakes on

And across the river, West Side Redevelopment Plans in Disarray. My, my, this could be the end of all big city projects (for now).

In Brooklyn they band together to prevent anything super-sized from
ruining the view of their famous
John Roebling icon.

In Queens we let Suna
crap all over our equally famous icon, the Queensboro Bridge!

That's the Vallone legacy for you.

Warning:
Watch out you guys and girls in northeast Flushing.
Paul Vallone is running for Avella's spot!

Gee, is it not funny that groups like UCCA and CB1 go balistic over Con Ed selling space for a few UPS trucks and instead want riverside parkland, while they consign the rest of Astoria to looking at the backs of waterfront towers for the next few hundred years.

Transporation Alternatives wants access to the waterfront at the Con Ed site, too. Why not the rest of the waterfront, too, guys?

ConEd needs to get their ass in gear and remove the plants that were legally supposed to be remove years ago.
