"What the...?" in the Meatpacking District

Here's my latest effort on behalf of Curbed. If you're wondering what you're looking at, it's a high-priced hotel straddling the High Line. I kid you not! Just look at this: Standard Hotel rendering

It looks interesting in its non-completed form....
but when finally clad in all its curtain-wall "glory"
it resembles an early 1960s retro building
more suited for the headquarters
of the Standard Oil Company....those old "ESSO" b's !
