Slumlord selling

A notorious Queens landlord appears ready to throw in the towel and sell about 50 properties with almost 2,000 units in the borough.

Real (big) estate deal in the works

Nicholas Haros, dubbed one of the city's 10 worst landlords in 2005 by the Housing Here and Now advocacy group, is negotiating a $300 million deal with Apollo Real Estate Advisors and Vantage Properties LLC, said two lawyers who have sued Haros on behalf of tenants.

Being a slumlord may be immoral, but can be very profitable if you do it right.

Well at least if he sells the buildings there'll be one less cut throat landlord to deal with, unless his replacement turns out to be worse.
