QC offends the real estate industry

Looks like QC hit a nerve!

With all due respect Mr. Crapper.

"I am one that can say that the McMansions that you speak of - have added value to our area and has (sic) made Queens one of the most desired areas to live in."

Well that just says it all, doesn't it? The Crapper is chuckling over the poor grammar and reading comprehension exhibited by Ms. Forgione as well as her love of crap. Guess she didn't actually read the Tribune article, otherwise, she would have chosen a different title, too. Oh, well.

Here's a boost from Outer B:

7 Reasons 2007 is the Year of Queens

"The media elite decided they had to counter the claims of a certain overdevelopment protest blog."

The Crapper was born and raised in Queens, as were generations of my family. Like them, I will never leave. I love Queens and that is why I will vigorously defend it until I am planted in the family plot - you guessed it - right here in Queens. (Isn't it funny how people assume that others who dare to speak up for themselves must be planning to run for office? Why is that?)

McMansions are good? Fine, she should go live in the shadow of one. I suppose she thinks it's fine to tear down Civil War-era houses to put up a piece of shit.. because it increases property values, right? This woman exemplifies the gross attitude and severe lack of taste and sensibility that led to the creation of Queens Crap. Christine, if you love McMansions, you don't love Queens, you just love the opportunity it presents to line your goddamn pockets. Please go back to Colorado and make it ugly instead.

Oh this is great, Crappie. The people are speaking and the real estate industry is caught with their pants down.

Let the people of Queens speak, let a thouand comments bloom, and tear open the windows on the suffocationg politico/developer complex that has been strangling this good borough for years. Let the real estate boys (and girls) crap from one end of the borough to the other over this.

BTW, let us let you in on a few little secrets:

WE AIN'T EVEN WORKED UP A SWEAT, YOU BUMS!

YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET!

The piece sounds like a group of real estate brokers from a certain realty company decided to write up something, then post to their own thread.

They had better get a fire hose, instead. Queeens Crap is the talk of the town, and it seems that by idly tossing a match here, and other there, the smoldering public just starting to catch on. All Queens needs is a little spark.

Understand volume on this site is going through the roof.

It's nice to know that the regular "real estate army" is cowering in their fox holes while being trounced by the elite group of "commandos" at Queens Crap who are spreading the truth! Who said the little guys (who've been stepped on for years) can't fight back!

You punks in the real estate industry keep putting out your press releases. We've got more C.P.M.s (that's circulation- per- million figures, in case you don't know the advertising lingo) in our target group than you've got!

While we reach a huge audience, you're just reaching your smug small group of collegues!

And we haven't reached full speed yet! You might even consider us a "weapon of mass information"!

Lets take a look at the tale of the tape"

LIC/western Queens

population: up 15% in 5 years, 30% in 15 years
schools: 120% of capacity
hospitals: 1960 -3 2007 - 1
streets: rated dirtiest in Queens
firehouses: closed
supermarkets: zero

and my favorite: electric grid - shot to hell.

The three problems of all this waterfront construction:

1. industrial pollution: this area has the most industrial poisons in the metro region. Anyone who lives around a brown field is subjecting the family to breathing ailments and cancers. Every time they open the ground for a new scheme, the area stinks with all those toxins released into the envirnment. Those power plants make Queens one of the top four polluted counties in the country and they are spewing out gunk as we speak. Go up by Poletti – see the street signs bleached? Now think of what they are doing to your lungs!

2. FEMA has rated the area along the waterfront and Newtown Creek as a threatened zone for hurricanes. When even a moderate storm hits NY harbor (as it does several times each century), your area will resemble New Orleans.

3. The power plants and waterfront in NYC is a terrorist target (why don't you think Bloomberg, who wants you to live there, is not living in Gracie Mansion?). You are right across the river from the UN. Back in the 1960s a radical group tried to launch missiles across the river - now think of the plans being tossed around today.

GO AHEAD REALTY COMPANIES, DEVELOPERS, PUT THESE THINGS IN YOUR BROCHURES: SHOULD SOMETHING ALONG THESE LINES HAPPEN, WITHOUT FULL DISCLOSURE, YOU MIGHT BE OPENING UP YOUR FIRMS UP TO LAWSUITS.

Just a helpful thought.
