From the NY Post:
More than 1,000 anti-cop protesters defied Mayor de Blasio and flooded Manhattan Tuesday evening, marching through the Fifth Avenue shopping district before heading uptown.
“The mayor says stop that, we say f–k that!” the mob chanted at one point.
Other slogans were of the sort that Hizzoner has denounced as “hateful” and “inappropriate” in the wake of Saturday’s assassinations of two city cops.
“NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today?” the protesters shouted.
The demonstrators, some carrying a banner that read “Stop Racist Police Terror,” started marching south from 59th Street on the sidewalks, but later blocked traffic on Fifth and Madison Avenues.
They then turned around and started marching toward Harlem to demonstrate in front of a police station house.
“We’re protesting tonight because the mayor specifically said not to,” said marcher Tarik Grand, 25, of Brooklyn.
Meanwhile, members of the City Council — who protested the grand-jury decision by staging “die-ins” — jumped on the sympathy bandwagon and held a pro-cop news conference inside City Hall.

They don't listen to what police say, which leads to them resisting arrest, so why would they listen to what they mayor says? They'll never learn. Disrespectful animals.
The problem with embracing the mob is once you do you can't backtrack. It reminds me of Thomas Jefferson's comments on slavery: “But, as it is, we have the wolf by the ear, and we can neither hold him nor safely let him go. Justice is in one scale, and self-preservation in the other.”
—Thomas Jefferson
The chickens have come home to roost.
Cops know the risk that they can die on the job.
Which is why we should show respect for them when they die.
"Cops know the risk that they can die on the job."
Call your thug friends when you need help, POS.
malcolm x quote is apt indeed
these protests no longer have a point and are clearly motivated by hubris and spite.the mayor was right to call for a break, but these rubes and posers assume that showing solidarity for innocent lives other than the ones they choose is like oppression.
how many kids did they kill today?none so far,how many did cops kill during the march, none.even the chants and cadances have become cliched and banal.now more than ever
these people are sullying the memories of the dead they are marching for and the cause for which they supposedly stand.and they are insulting the families of the two slain cops.two guys who were just eating their lunch, one who did not even have to work that day.and then they were killed by some confused mentally ill thug.
I hope these supposed activists take a look in the mirror,or maybe look at themselves on youtube and see if they can consciously continue doing this.and see how agitating people and cops is going to change this perpetual broken system and ever growing police state.because they are giving the powerful the demented justifications they are hoping for.
It's not anti cop...it's anti brutality, excessive force. The protests by and large is not about not having cops or hating cops. It's to bring to light to the occurrence of when unarmed folks are killed when there could have been other options to arrest.
"It's not anti cop...it's anti brutality, excessive force."
I'd say that chanting “NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today?” is pretty anti-cop, not anti-violence.
a bakers dozen of black males have been killed by other blacks in the past week. that means nothing.
He was not part of any movement. He's no different than those who commits mass shootings.
police are the ones that see EVERYDAY how these animals treat each other. EVERYDAY the citizens of this city shoot and stab each other. the NYPD has to clean up after these people EVERYDAY as they try to murder each other. Thats the frustrating part of al of this. These protesters don't give a fuck about black people. Black people don't give a fuck about black people.
Yeah but that does not reflect tha majority of the protesters. You always going to have some folks with their agenda.
Tea Party folks had many signs that were racist during their protests but some say it does not reflect their opinions on government. Again it's free speech.
Look I know a person that was a teammate of mine and was in the high school I went to. He was not a person of color but Apperantly he had a knife but he was not well. He was shot and killed. BUT, I think department can come up with other procedures
that can disarm that person. He left a young son.
Yeah, but there's no actual organized "tea party".
Let's recall when the Pan Am protests were going on and the dipshits from the shelter started their racist chants, no one in the media went after them, they went after the handful of Chinese that responded to them with "get a job".
So in liberal land, when it's people protesting a shelter, the whole lot of them are racist, but when it's people protesting the police, it's individuals expressing opinions and not the whole mob.
Okay.
I don't appreciate the use of animals. You are also part of the problem with your obvious racist thoughts.
Such language does not move the conversation forward. We may not agree respectfully but we don't have to go down to the dirt.
Well a lot of folks have identified themselves as a Tea Party member, many conservative Republicans. Even Bill O'rielly identify himself as a Tea Party Member so....
I am all for protests and demonstrations and in the beginning felt that the protests were specific to the topic about some police action's. Now it seems to have completely lost focus, seems to be very anti-police and hateful and now seems to just stir up trouble, which many who could care less about Brown, Garner, etc, will give them an excuse to do whatever they fuck they want.
You have totally lost me now on this issue because the majority of police officers follow the rules, but yet these protesters seem to have lumped all police officers into that mix and they act like every single black man is a target for police officers, which is far from the truth.
And many of the elected officials and leaders are not trying to back track on some of the stupid remarks they made, including the totally ignorant Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, who pretty much made a fool of herself on "Morning Joe" the other day.
All the years that young black men were being killed by other young black men, you heard nothing. One needs only look at Chicago for that.
And where are all these protesters in regard to the conditions in black communities, especially the far left liberal whites, who I am sure do not live in Jamaica or East New York or Brownsville. Do you even understand what many communities of color are like (and I am not talking about reading an article or some sociology book). I can at least say I do and it ain't pretty on many different levels.
ask the liberal whites who live in the diverse towns they are gentrifying which aren't far from where the killings were.ridgewood, bushwick, even bed-stuy
didn't the ny times do an article about the vibrancy and the big sales in bed stuy recently?
and it's not black on black crime,it's crime.
the use of the word 'animal' bothers you but a few dozen dead black males every week at the hands of other black males doesn't even move you. if you can't scream the word 'Racist' it isn't a fight worth fighting. and that my friends sums up this entire 'movement'. MOSTBLACKLIVESDONTMATTER!!!!!
Many of the people are angry with the police because they prevent them from committing crime. You don't want people stopping your cash flow.
One of the best articles on this topic.
'In 2013, there were 6,261 black homicide victims in the U.S.—almost all killed by black civilians'
THATS 17 EACH DAY!! This doesn't include the ones that don't die. HOW CAN THEY NOT SEE THIS AS THE REAL PROBLEM?
The more they blame others for their actions the longer they will be second class citizens. Time to step the fuck up and make a change.
I believe (and since i type my opinions on the internet my views are the right ones) it all begins with the family structure. Stop having children until you are married and financially better off. Lets begin with that and see where it takes us.
Al Sharpton is Black America's 9/11.

you think these places are going to be an attractive place to live a year from now after the criminals take back the streets?
This has grown into a protest against the NYPD itself, which they see as a wealth-protecting private army.
What they want is no police at all, ultimately.
KKK? how many blacks have the NYPD killed today? None.
Just like almost every day for the last twenty years.
How many black have blacks killed today (and everyday)? Many and clearly black lives don't matter, to these protestors, or to convicted liar Al Sharpton.
If Barak Obama had a son, and he was killed, his murderer would look like Barak Obama. That's not racist. It's just fact.
Trying to help these thugs by saying that the Tea Party is the largest threat to humanity on earth is to be a moron.
Why should anyone listen to an arrogant, passive aggressive, intensely incompetent liar like Bill de Blasio? PBA President Patrick Lynch is 100% right when he denounced Mr. Bill for publicly making it known that he had to warn his son about the NYPD, should he ever be stopped. Well, if he ever does get stopped, my advise to young Dante is: Be respectful (even if you believe that your cop is not), don't resist arrest, and live your life with clean hands. But, the unbelievable arrogance that comes from the mayor's mouth with every word he utters, continues to strain all credibility--beyond reason and sanity. Case in point: It took several months for him to remove Rachel Noerdlinger (who lives with a convicted murderer, and didn't reveal this oversight to the DOI), and briefly served as a $170,000 a year crony and de facto chief of staff for his wife Chirlane--who is not an elected official--and has been recently been replaced by not one--but TWO (yes, you heard it right), TWO cheifs of staff at nearly double the price ($325,000) of my taxpayer money that I did not approve! And Chirlane is STILL not elected to any public office--and the public be damned! Advice to Bill de Blasio: In addition to having personally battled with your corrupt and dishonest administration over my NYC job and pension which I lost through official city and state misconduct (and also further humiliated by your employee Jared Andrews, who called me a white cracker during a telephone call in April, 2014--and where the solid evidence that I provided you and staffer Jean Ross is still not addressed, remedied and adjudicated--despite your obvious power to make things right), why not resign your post forthwith, and offer it to your wife, Chirlane? Now that you've once again ignored public outcry and democracy by insisting on two new obscenely overpaid patronage flacks for you wife (whom is still not elected to anything), it seems to be that, regarding the mayoralty, she's already halfway there!
I never thought that the colossal arrogance (and unprecedented cowardice) that former Mayor Michael Bloomberg wielded with impunity would ever be matched and bypassed by an intensely incompetent little nugget like Bill de Blasio--and his rapidly collapsing, progressive, house of cards agenda of false, fake and failed leadership. Honest, ethical leadership (that leads by example) is simply not this mayor's thing! Further, he insists on using his children and wife--only when he believes it beneficial to himself and politics, and his continual (and never ending) post-election campaign. Otherwise, the press are tersely invited to leave his family alone. Well, you can't have it both ways, Waffling Bill. It's apparent that whenever the free press raise any issues that this thin-skinned mayor doesn't want to address, he employs an immediate 'Attack And Retreat, Accuse And Evade' strategy--and it is less than dignified, as it strains all credibility. Alas, for a mayor whose lies surely hypnotized some of the gullible voters with his laughable 'Tale Of Two Cities' diatribe, and other monster whopper tales of fiction that purport to represent a progressive agenda, all I can see is a hollow agenda of empty promises, neo-fascism and nihilism that also include brazen cronyism, nepotism, favoritism, preferential treatment, unnecessary appointments for family (not elected to public office), cover-ups, brainless stonewalling, duping, scamming and an overall administration of pitifully sycophantic amateurs (like loud mouthed opportunist Letitia James--whose decibel-high volume I never mistake for action, transparency and accountability), and who couldn't flush a Queens crapper without getting soaked! Please, Bill de Blasio, save yourself further, shame, dishonor, dishonest, disloyalty, dysfunction and dereliction of public duty, and resign forthwith! However, I hear that there's a first lady lurking about Gracie Mansion (whom is already equipped with TWO freshly approved and minted chiefs of staff (not authorized by voters like me), that is apparently already halfway there regarding the mayoralty!
Although having realized a long time ago that the police can not protect the citizenry, this enemy of the state mayor has brought anarchy to this city. With that said, this city can go f**k themselves with the need for a long gun permit. I will do what ever it takes to protect my family. Mossberg & Ruger will be taking up residence in my house!
This is turning out to be just another Occupy Wall Street protest fiasco. No focus. No unity. The arrogant anarchists will soon retreat and life will go back to normal...
Which members of the City Council participated in the "die-in"? Any from Queens?
Mr. Walsh your statement is fool hardy and shows you don't get it and lack perspective. As for the person who made the following about the things and the tea party being a threat to humanity nonsense, again I am not a thug nor anarchist nor not wanting police in my neighborhood. I just should not have to fear those who ate sworn to protect me.
Your odds of getting shot by a cop are about as high as getting struck by lightning. And by targeting businesses during the holidays and calling good cops members of the KKK It shows how misguided the mob is.
CUNY newspaper editorial calls for violent protests
I think in the garner case, the police murdered the man. For what? Illegal Cigarettes? Just because someone does a petty crime doesn't mean he deserves to be murdered. The ones that should be murdered are living in our jails enjoying three square meals a day and cable tv at the tax payers expense. The real criminals that deserve to be murdered are being kept alive by our hard earned tax dollars. Douchebags like Charles Manson and all these sick pedophiles are allowed to live when they committed mass murders and/or sick acts against children.

No, you're the fool here. Why should you fear the police if you live a good, honest life? If a cop stops you for something, respond with respect, and use proper channels if he harms you. These protesters called for dead cops, and they got them. They have no respect, nor do they have any sense of what would become of them without police.
The NYPD should patrol these areas minimally. You don't want police in your community? That's fine. The police will give you the bare minimum and nothing more. Oh, your thug neighbor's pit bull is attacking you? We'll get there when we get there. F*#k them.
I think in the garner case, the police murdered the man. For what? Illegal Cigarettes? Just because someone does a petty crime doesn't mean he deserves to be murdered.
No, he was killed by his obesity and heart disease that couldn't take being tackled to the ground when he was resisting arrest. First verbally, and then flung off the officer's arm.
Watch the whole video, with sound: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2014/dec/04/i-cant-breathe-eric-garner-chokehold-death-video
It's a tragedy that he died, but when the cops show up, they get to control the situation. You don't argue with them when they suspect you of doing wrong. That gives them just cause. Comply (optionally stay silent) and file complaint later.
I never said I did not want good policing in my comunity. I just don't want to be treated like a perp.
Instead of these protesters running around causing trouble could you imagine the good they could do if they spent that time volunteering to clean up and help their communities, and the communities of color instead? (I know Jamaica would be a good place to start with all the Queens Crap pages on it).
That would be real change. Paint over graffiti and clean up the place, mentor the young adults who are going down the wrong paths and show them what is right, work with the children and set them on the right path, start community patrols to supplement and work with law enforcement to fight violent crimes.
Take back your communities and make them better places to live. That would be real change the protesters could accomplish. But instead we're going to run around screaming I can't breathe for months on end blocking traffic accomplishing nothing and pissing off everyone else.
Savages. DeBlasio is officially in over his head.
Maybe a demonstration to impeach Di Blasio might be in order. This...uh..."mayor"....is a train wreck. He has already proven that he doesn't have a brain, but who the hell is his advisor? Time to see the Wizard of Oz to replace the straw in his head with some gray matter.
After less than a year of intensely incompetent service, Bill de Blasio has proven to be the worst mayor in New York history. Aside from his total inability to use common sense, logic and wisdom in daily decision making, he is also the quintessential class A narcissist: arrogant, deceitful, manipulative, greedy, selfish, passive aggressive, cowardly, and a confabulating dissembler that trumps 12 corrupt, dishonest and reductive years of the Bloomberg debacle (whose administration murdered the heart and soul of New York City), with a vengeance! It's not enough to allow this vulgarian crumb (and his equally incompetent administration in Melissa Mark-Viverito, Bill Bratton, Phil Walzak) to serve the most important American city nationwide (and the world over). Calls for impeachment must be urgent, loud and clear from constituents like you and me--and especially the NYPD! PBA President Patrick Lynch spoke the cold light of day truth when he said that de Blasio threw the entire NYPD under the proverbial bus. Actually, it started much sooner with the mayor's insistence on hiring Al Sharpton's hack, Rachel Noerdlinger for a position that she was not qualified to serve (for a first lady whom was not publicly elected to dog catcher), and living with a convicted murderer and drug dealer. If that doesn't say 'SCREW YOU' to police everywhere, then I don't know what does! Impeach this arrogant, evil coward (and public service impostor) forthwith--and then banish him from all public service for life!

The apologists for the anti-cop protests keep belaboring this dubious point. The killers numerous internet rants show that he was closely following and being influenced by this movement. His own words "they took one of ours, let's take two of theirs" The movement is very loosely organized, there are no membership rolls or cards. He was videotaped at one of the anti cop rallies in Union Square two weeks earlier, what more proof is needed that this movement played a direct role in motivating these officers murders?
For de blasio's next name change, i recommend. Rodney Dangerfield, or Warren Lindsay.......
