Leaving on that midnight train to Jamaica

From the Queens Courier:

Queens straphangers will have to hold on for a little longer.

The borough suffered a 17 percent spike in subway delays from 2011 to 2012, according to a new Straphangers Campaign report by the New York Public Interest research Group (NYPIRG).

Queens was the least improved in the city when it came to decreasing subway delays last year, the report said. The number of delay alerts jumped from 392 to 458.

I wouldn't want to be stuck in Jamaica after dark...
let alone around midnight.

And Queens has equally stellar bus service lately

A Better NYC said...

The MTA is a government-run agency.

It would be foolish to expect reliable service.

Oh, BS. I've been going to Queens since early 1990 and using what were then mostly private lines.

With the exception of whoever ran the Q101 (Queens Surface?) ALL of the others were filthy, smelly and often had several failed components.

The absolute worst was Green Lines on the Q60. Ancient vehicles. Broken signal bells, broken AC, dead rear doors, many burned out interior lights and nasty drivers (who cold blame them).

The MTA does a MUCH better job of maintaining their fleet.
