Middle class not a concern for Mike

From Mr. NYC:

The middle-class is dying and Mike doesn't seem to notice or care. The most we've gotten out of him about this issue is lip-service but no action.

The term-limits law was extended precisely because Mike is supposedly an expert on ... the economy. But what is the "economy" if not the entity that gives people the ability to the pay their bills? Mike's supposed expertise is in short supply when it comes to rescuing the middle class.

"A nation's productive - and moral and intellectual - top is the middle class. It is a broad reservoir of energy, it is a country's motor and lifeblood which feeds the rest. The common denominator of its members on their various levels of ability, is: independence. The upper classes are merely a nation's past; the middle class is its future." - Ayn Rand

I interview this woman because she is knitting hats a tag with Mike Bloomberg's face and a line thru it saying No Third Term.
She specifically comments on Mike's treatment of the middle class.
Thanks,

Way before the middle class ever existed there were only peasants, serfs (whatever) and the ruling class of kings (etc.) who lorded over them.

The idea of vital modern cities came into being with the emergence of the middle class.

They were mainly responsible for making the great cities of the world truly successful as centers of commerce and culture.

Now Mayor Mike seems intent on pushing out NYC's middle class which gives it its strength and long term stability.

That may well leave us with the extreme polarity of the rich and the poor.

Four more years of Emperor Bloomberg is a step closer to the dark ages for our great city.

The Middle Class in not a concern of the machine, and since they are going to support him, he taylors his message to what they want.

That is your culprit.

Look at all those ads he is in going to all the favored tweeded spots in the boro.

Be interesting to go back to the way it was when the country was founded. Only landowners can vote.
Would remove the serf voting block the machines need to keep get them voted in.

the middle class is what keeps this country going, who are they kidding. bloomass needs to be voted out and bring in new fresh honest faces back into the city.

But remember, our elites are now INTERNATIONAL living in offshore tax havens like Bermuda getting paid sinfully large sums of money to manipulate things rather than do things.

Like Blumturd, they control the media, control the politicans (and looking at the calibre of people in office that ain't too hard) and have scant interest in the welfare of any one area.

Now couple this with an INTERNATIONAL underclass that is transient, could't give two figs about civic stuff, goes at the least whim where they can get the best deal in life, doesn't support the community they are in by sending money home, etc.

So on both ends of the spectum, it makes perfect sense to have contempt for, and indifference to, the fate of your sacred Middle Class.

You don't help things by being lazy and glued to the tube, either.

But I do find it ironic, for example, the people like Wade that brag about junkets all over the world are really, in a few important areas, are exactly like the Jose's that they have scrorn for.

Indeed, Jose's wife not only raises her kids, but the kids of Wades who live in little protected enclaves like Brooklyn Heights and the East Side - areas incidentally, that are landmarked and, although supported by your taxes, do everything they can to deny you the same privlidge.

As said elsewhere by someone on this blog, I too love life's little ironies.

It is sad that the real old money, the backbone of this country that used to ride up front with their driver, or, as in true Rhett Butler style, used to have a special relationship (and real care for) Mammy, who used to have pride of place, who defended their community with the spirit of Minutemen, and who knew their fate was tried to the health of the Middle Class, are falling by the wayside.

Hey Crappy,

Did you ever see this audit on the Queens Borough Office?
http://www.comptroller.nyc.gov/bureaus/audit/07-03-08_FP07-094A.shtm
did not maintain bidding documentation on file for ten purchase documents totaling $194,948;
paid $54 in sales tax on four of the 446 vouchers;
charged the wrong object code for 23 of its 446 vouchers, totaling $13,485;
used 11 of its 32 miscellaneous vouchers, totaling $44,262, to pay for transactions to postal service providers, which is not allowed under Comptroller’s Directive #24;
did not maintain a list of principals and directors for 36 of 77 organizations receiving grants, totaling $209,694;
did not deposit cash collected on 4,437 sales transactions on the same business day it was collected; and
did not maintain complete and accurate inventory records.

Rev. Floyd Flake just endorsed Bloomy. Either his churchgoers are wealthy elites, or a tweeded ethnic group.

America is becoming a fascist society. My father fought Hitler, it is time to put a stop to the little Hitlers and little Stalins that are wrecking us.

Let pretend he doesn't notice his neighbor had his architect self certify illegally the building next to him which now houses 19 people in a basement apartment.

It's Ok send the DOB in the morning to knock on the neigbors door - oh too bad the neighbor doesn't open the door. Let the fire which occurs there following day be a wake up call when 16 perish in the fire because the self-certification was a criminal lie.

The Reverend Floyd is definitely a Flake.

He runs what's known as "Allentown" like a backwoods emperor himself.

That's why he and Bloomberg have a lot more in common than one would think.

Mike probably bought off Floyd
to become his sharecropper!
