The New York City fire department says the roof of a vacant Brooklyn building has partially collapsed, and residents of nearby buildings have been evacuated.

are you kidding me let's look into who's working for the contractor, hmm i believe it will come out day laborers. feel so sorry for the folks who have lost everything, but thank god they were not home. you know will hear from ceiling on her head!

On July 1st a new NYC building code will take effect - unfortunately the problem in NYC is the enforcement of building code. DOB isn't interested until there is a problem like this - some architects, engineers and contractors take their work seriously - unfortunately most try to get away with doing as little as possible
