The IBX the MTA, accidental Governor Kathy Hochul and the urbanist cult lobbyists love so much is going to require eminent domain to get it done.
This means over a decade of construction that's going to cause damages to homes and displacement of residents and also the destruction of the environment by razing trees and green space all long the transit line that will stretch from middle class Middle Queens to low area median income towns in South Brooklyn.
This transit plan must be terminated.

How do you get around? Do you walk through the fields, or do you walk/drive on a street that was built on top of a once pristine forest?
What's green about this? It's a train line. Does your car hover in the air or does it roll along a concrete street?

Besides all the valid points COMET made of what WILL happen. If this garbage gets green lighted a Casino or hotel with bus transfer to a Flushing Meadow casino may end up on that huge Metro mall property. The traditional Drugs, Hookers and other vice that comes with casino trash included. That lease should be looked into. I do know part of that building was used for TV and movie set construction and is now vacant, landlord losing money. (they use Greenpoint, Brooklyn Navy yard and Mexico for set construction now. Why else could these progressives want to bring challenged "urban" in people and "mess" into the nice areas Middle Village, Ridgewood.

That is: If I'm correct there are 2 main huge gas lines that run beside the current tracks. You can even see them from under the tracks at Cypress ave, Seneca ave road underpasses, they must be 24 inch diameter each. I lived on Seneca and it was explained to me those are the main lines that tied into the Elmhurst gas tanks but still bring supply much of Queens and both LGA and JFK airports gas from Brooklyn (where it comes in under the Verrazano narrows from the terminal New Jersey)
Has anybody asked what the gas company and Dept of home security thinks about this?
This is a bad idea for countless reasons, especially when the people pushing to ram it down peoples throats are deliberately withholding information that will affect countless lives, property theft and death from the public.
They are feeding the public shit and telling us a meal.
Who the hell from Middle village wants to go to Brooklyn, Woodside Mexico or ride the #7 train John Rocker express to some hell?

I think this may have something to do with the Casino being built next to Junkyard Stadium. Make it easier to import the dumbest, poorest, most uneducated people in Brooklyn to throw away the little money they have right?
