The democrats did this on City Island when I was living there. It was a compleate disaster.
1-People parked in those former spaces anyway. There was no enforcement of this except on Saturdays and Sundays.
2 -It added 8 more ugly poles and sinage per intersection.
3-The dirtbages parked in people driveways, lots of fights because the police didnt enforce parking on side streets.
Last-- People circling the streets and making fast illegal U turns to score a parking space caused more traffic accidents, pedestrian hits, then this "daylighting" was sopposed to prevent.
The progressives socialist democrats running the city seem to have a remote control on the D.O.T and want to do this to the whole city because the hate private cars, private 'anything" want people to give up on them and use public transprotation.
These dumb jackasses are to stupid to thik up a real plan, they simpley plagiarise methods used in shit socialist countrys like Denmark & Sweden here. Then claim how smart they are by feeding is shit and telling us it a meal.

To add: This "daylighting of intersections is always sold on safty and the fire department. Well thats bullshit, I spoke with a captain in the NYC-FD and he laughed and said. Its never been a problem if we really need to get a 65 ton ladder truck in we'll just push the cars right out of the way like toys. In the old days cars were much bigger, heavier and wider and the streets were narrower. This suddenly being a problem after 100+ years of cars, now smaller lightweight stamped out unibody cars and SUVs its even easier. When was the last time you saw a 5,700 pound 1974 Caddy, Chrysler New Yorker or Pontiac Grand-Ville parked on a corner or anyplace in this city?
This daylighting (a scare tactic to cull badly needed parking spaces) a total bullsh~t excuse sham dreamed up by the DOT appointed progressive woke communests to discourage automobile ownership and force people on the MTA rolling insane aslyum.
One couldnt pay me enough to use a filthy nutjob, criminal, lice & fecal matter infested public bus or LL train in this city without packing an automatic weapon. Death, ending up in jail for defending yourself, a trip to the ER or morgue is not worth any ride.

I have a palm card showing Holden endorsing Phil Wong for City Council. The card states that Wong helped to secure record-breaking funding for parks and fought for public safety and quality of life. Has anyone been to the track at Juniper Park to take a leisurely walk and get some exercise on the weekend? There are conspicuous signs on the fence near the grandstand seats saying that no wheels of any kind are allowed on the track. Despite this, the track is routinely filled with people riding bikes on the track in a dangerous manner; speeding, doing wheelies, etc. Also, there are soccer players recklessly kicking soccer balls onto the track. These activities endanger seniors, and others, innocently trying to use the track for its particular purpose. Users of the track constantly have to be alert to bikers speeding on the track or soccer balls flying towards walkers or runners. What good is funding for parks if nobody does anything to make sure that the posted rules are being followed and that safety is provided? As far as Holden is concerned, has anybody ever investigated how this Democrat got to run on the Republican line? The statements on the campaign card for Wong imply that he, and Holden, have improved park safety, while reality implies otherwise.
A cyclist was killed a few weeks ago on 80th and Juniper Bvd. The Civic Association should be looking to put in more bike lanes instead of whining about day-lighting.
They should pour concrete over Junipier park and use it for free car storage if they are so concerned with daylighting.
