A crane toppled onto a Queens building under construction Friday morning, officials said.

The commercial boom truck fell along the side and on top of the two-story building on 36th Avenue near 35th Street around Dutch Kills about 8:30 a.m., according to FDNY and Department of Buildings officials.

Workers told PIX 11 that the crane was loading steel beams into place at the site of the new apartment building when the load apparently became too heavy.

No one was hurt, officials said. The cause remains under investigation.

“We got a report that there [were] only two workers inside the building under construction. They were also removed,” FDNY Captain Carmine Calderaro said at the scene.

“We had an aerial view of all sides, and we were pretty confident we did our due diligence to make sure nobody was in the building right now.

“Apparently, they were doing some work. The crane was up and moving some equipment around. That’s all I can tell you at this time.”

Third world or second world labor force? This is painful and totally unnecessary. People could have been killed. But this is what happens in most of the world:

"I donin no wha happin - we do these thing in my hom cuntry. no wan say nothin." or

"Da, bek problem for bek buildin. We fex machina go hom. Soviet boss no report."

It's not the Panama Canal or even the Empire State Building. Different labor force today. Were they even union or certified to use the equipment? Some topics are off-topic for the media today. Third world or second world media is more the question.

This happens because Socialists are making life difficult for the job creators. Un-necessary red tape and bureaucracy.

How much will the company inflate the cost of removing the truck and getting the building fixed all on the taxpayer's dime.

“Third world or second world labor force?”

Does it matter? It’s not like union labor forces are perfect either. City and State projects usually use union labor (or at the very least, U.S. citizens). The projects are almost always late and/or over budget, and not without injuries.Just look at any MTA project in the past several decades, or look up the OSHA violations for DEP projects. The real question is why we as taxpayers continue to accept over budget, late work. The ethnicity of the labor force is a distraction. Don’t be fooled.

This is very common in Third World construction projects.
The Open border Biden/Dem policy caused this as well as illegal drug and human trafficking !

You obviously are not in construction or know many people who are.

Come on now, crane operators are higher paying jobs that very often go to non minorities, usually the incompetent nephew of some bozo union official.
