Yes, came across this guy yesterday too - I guess the algorithm on Youtube popped him to the surface.
It's interesting that the East Side is not this bad - perhaps only one or two stores are closed on each block, but rather chilling is they are the stores catering to parents of children, a whole demographic is wiped off the urban map - which tells us that after decades of not choosing to raise kids in Manhattan, that trend after a few decades abruptly stopped and families decamped to the suburbs.
The building a friend lives in has 15 apartments, and early in 2019 a new agency took it over and put new names on the mailboxes. Only 5 names are still there after a year and a half.
It is so interesting how our elected officials live in a perfect fantasy world. For example, instead of shoring up the arts, which is the main industry of NYC, cultural money is used for the 'artistic' performances of various ethnic groups - may be of very limited public interest, but it makes killer photos within media of the targeted group. Who cares if the mainstream arts community leaves NY if you have plenty of Urdu-themed music events, perhaps of very limited interest, and kills off the tourist trade, but they ensure you won over that community for the next election.
Crime as theft and bodily injury is all but free and open, as was riots and mayhem from last year - which to a large extent is the source of all the damaged windows and storefronts that he is recording.
My guess is that everyone is now busy reformatting their investments hoping that Uncle Sam will pick up the pieces. When the crap hits the fan, the Democratic Party which has alienated a good portion of the country will be replaced by the Socialists who will do what Roosevelt did in the 30s - go after and loot the liberal rich and powerful and bring them down to earth.
Should also be interesting when people wake up that Trump's economic policies are exactly what is needed. It is a real shame his behaviour is so offputting. Someone else will have to rise on the right and a lot of new talent is just taking the stage finally replacing the tired Rinos like Bush et al.
The next 20 years are going to be a sh*t sandwich but the good news is that the elites will be destroyed as they were in the 30s and we will emerge like the 40s ready for a generation of prosperity.
As good is that an economic crisis will knock this woke BS off the table.
There is a rumor that because the mortgages on the buildings are sold by wall Street the rent cannot fall below a certain amount. Maybe it's cheaper to write off a vacancy as a loss

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. Let's just rename the city Detroit and get it over with.

3 videos about Manhattan. What's the story with Queens?
What is the story with Queens? Take a picture in 1960. Take a picture in 2020.
That about sums it up.
Next question.
