Brazen gunslingers are shooting the daylights out of the Big Apple.
After a shocking execution in Park Slope and last Saturday afternoon’s shooting spree in Times Square, The Post requested crime data to see if the impression that criminals have become bolder in broad daylight is true.
Sadly, it appears so.
As of April 25, the NYPD recorded 374 shootings this year — and 119, or 32 percent, occurred between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. During the same period last year there were 213 shootings — with 63, or 30 percent, happening in daylight.
The 2-percent uptick in the percentage of daylight-to-overall shootings was not as worrisome to the cops’ union as the surging frequency of daytime gunplay: the increase from 63 shootings last year to 119 this year represents an 89-percent explosion.
“The increase in brazen, broad-daylight shootings just confirms what we already knew: violent criminals have no fear anymore,” Police Benevolent Association President Pat Lynch told The Post.
“They know that the police are underfunded, understaffed and hobbled by pro-criminal politicians and a broken justice system,” he added. “They know that if we arrest them in the morning, they’ll be back out in time for dinner. As a cop here in NYC nothing makes me sleep better at night then knowing that this is the city everyone wanted. Everyone was warned that this would happen. Brushed off as police rhetoric. Now it’s too late. The politicians didn’t care. The DA’s didn’t care. The Judges didn’t care. The city council really didn’t care. The citizens kept quiet while the city burned. Now the police don’t care. I’m less than a Biden term away from moving out of this dump.
Should a rich person be allowed to hire their own private security,
especially when that rich person wants to stop individual citizens having their own means of defence against bad guys with guns?
Notice how quickly it went from “bad cop, demand justice” to “defund/dissolve all police” and “open up all prisons”? Straight out of the communist playbook.

Yes indeed, the communist mayor and city council couldn't get what they want in the courts due to the US Constitution so they used other methods.
In this case hand freedom and indemnity to thugs and use them as paramilitary. This to destroy the city and drive everybody who does not share their vision out.
I believe this war and cancelled rent and eviction protection is targeted at small private homeowners.
The city wants to take control of every private living space and building.
Example:
deBlasio--"Hey Homeowner, If you ever want to see rent money again you better join us or sell" The building or home then becomes sec 8 subject to city rules and you can no longer choose your tenants or discriminate.
Result: Some single pregnant mother of 6 fatherless juvenile delinquents gets in for life and your house gets destroyed.
Different men and drug dealers coming and going all hours, hallway destroyed with garbage and bicycles.
I know, I seen what happens when people take sec 8 contracts with the city to get paid the rent. Again the mayor wants all private homeowners and folks who do not share in his master vision of everything social and shared run out of town.
Since the mayor cant use the military like Hitler releasing criminals to the streets in free for all is the fastest most efficient way to get the job done.
