Illegal Parking - Commercial Overnight Parking
United Towing and Collision 23-34 42 STREET, QUEENS (ASTORIA), NY, 11105 QUEENS
This business parks their damaged cars and trucks all over the neighborhood, creating an eyesore and taking up parking for the residents. There are feral cats living under some of the cars in the streets too.
They must be in cahoots with the police because the police do nothing. We have bene complaining for years to no avail. Come and take a look around the area and you will see their crappy cars and trucks everywhere. This is a quiet tree lined, grassy neighborhood and these cars parked all over really bring down the look of the area.
For Example:
Abandoned MTA plow on 23rd Road near Sound Street.
Minivan with PA Dealer plates (J78 463J) on 23rd Road, there almost a year.
Winnebago van with VT plates (see photo below), parked there for almost a year.
Signed, Irritated in Astoria.

Astoria - ha ha ha good luck.
Unless you are into a cash business like an eatery or real estate no one gives a flying *** on you or your concern.
Call the Community Board give them something to do.
Sorryass democrats run everything in NY right ?
I've been walking along there for 31 years...and someone just noticed it. It is a semi-industrial area.
There used to be a junk car 'dealer" under the train tracks just to the left of that area. After hours there was a nasty dog that was always trying to get out and attack passers by.

There’s another shop orsaris auto center @2426 49st that also parks trucks all over the neighborhood including cars with fake plates the rumor is that the 114th precinct looks the other way if you sprinkle some cash to the right people there
No more free parking on public streets!
Yeah some assholes tried to park their out of state (license plate) cars on my block. And whats worst is that the cars even had an expired inspection sticker from an entirely different state than the state on the license plate. I put in a complaint about it through the city and the only thing they did was put a sign on the car saying that someone complained that this car was parked there for more than 7 days or whatever it was. They don't even tow it or ticket it. Eventually after 4 weeks, someone comes for the vehicles and takes them somewhere else. Calling the city on cars like this is useless. They park their cars for weeks and the nypd doesn't care. They take good parking spots from residents. Meanwhile, I go over by 2 minutes at a meter, and I get a ticket. What a joke this city is. Wouldn't they make more money to actually tow the car and make the owners get it out of impound? I mean you tow it for free and then make 800 dollars on an impound fee....that would make more sense to me. And if the owners don't come, they can sell the cars at an auction or something. Seems like it would be a good way to make money to me.
Come on Astoria - reach out to your elected official and throw it into their lap, record the bs they have a low-level peon tells you (like calling a city agency with a busy number), and share it with the community.
All you need to do is have the locals get into the habit to publically say over and over again 'we called x and they have done nothing'
That's what they did in the old days and trust us SOMETHING will happen. Don't bother calling the city - that is THEIR job. Remember THEY are on YOUR DIME!
Gives them less time to pass stupid woke crap or help developers destroy your block.
Forget it Jake ....
Banning overnight parking for vehicles with out of state plates, with an automatic tow, would go a long way in solving these kind of issues.
Keep voting for these useless democrats...... this is what you get......NOTHING!!!! You get what u vote for
