Strolling through Astoria, thought I get a glimpse at the Steinway Mansion that I have read about all these years on Queens Crap by George the Atheist.
Truly a sight to behold.

Failure of the community of Astoria, especially ALL politicians representing the area, who did nothing (except vouch for the character of the purchasers....)
First photo JQ shows the Steinway family's stable sticking out into 41at Street - center left. Last photo shows same stable at far right center. I can't think of any similar physical protrusion into a public thoroughfare.
Just another harbinger of why you should leave NYC. It's decaying at a phenomenal rate. Soon, it will be all illegals and thugs, plus a few wealthy people who can afford walled homes and security guards. Thanks, Dimmocraps.
This is Astoria's values. Mention the mansion and they talk about haunted houses and wild dogs - the community actually thinks this is an improvement and admires the hillside plantings.
Went on a neighborhood tour this year and you should see the locals when that happens watching everyone suspiciously behind doors. They talk big about their community, endlessly about what a great place it was when they were kids, then sell out the first chance they get.
All they care about is stuffing their face with food. Check out Growing Up Astoria blog to get a sense of the place.

Pretty good description of the current White House.
Why do the people posting on here always refer to Astoria as the "community" that didn't do anything to save the mansion? Astoria has not been a "community" for at least 75 years. It is now and has been for a long time nothing but a polyglot cauldron of garbage for years. The illiterate Italians, Greeks and Croats from the 70s and 80s never even heard of the mansion and couldn't care less if they did. Same thing with today's illiterate Arabs, Mexicans and Bangladeshis. The woke millennials are even worse because to them the mansion is a symbol of Western racism and imperialism. Where is this community you keep talking about?
Italicized passages and many of the photos come from other websites. The links to these websites are provided within the posts.
Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. They are not connected to this website and the opinions presented here do not necessarily represent the positions of these organizations.
The comments left by posters to this site do not necessarily represent the views of the blogger or webmaster.

Hey started with the Clintons!

Sheer stupidity on display.
After the Steinway Street riots last summer and the drag racing this fall its finished.
Gone. Kaput. New demographic moving in.
RE: Sheer stupidity on display.
Yes, as a matter of fact, that too. Stupidity, amorality and fascism--it's the orange baboon way.....
Orange baboon had nothing to do with this - it was the fault of the Astoria community from the top down.
When you hear 'Astoria Values' simply respond 'Steinway Mansion' so the two phrases are forever linked.
Admit it. The average Astorian is a zhlub.
@ron s said... It doesn’t matter. Let the city collapse. You get what you deserve.
the lack of self-awareness from you is unreal !
I'm Convinced that Democrats are missing the "self-awareness" gene.

Don't talk like that on Growing Up Astoria or We Heart Astoria or Community Board 1.
They think there is no other place like Astoria.
And after seeing what they are doing to their community we could not agree more.
