Adult film star Ron Jeremy is fighting to save a tree his father planted outside their New York home the day he was born.
Jeremy took to Twitter on Saturday, saying that utility Con Edison was going cut down the tree that was planted in Queens in 1953.
The tweet includes a 2018 photo of Jeremy hugging the tree outside the home on Bell Boulevard in Bayside.
Jeremy, who has been staying at a Hollywood hotel during the coronavirus pandemic, told the New York Daily News that a neighbor let him know the trunk was wrapped in yellow tape last week.
“I looked after that tree all my life. They tried to chop the tree down years ago but I wouldn’t let them,” Jeremy said. “I even belted myself to the tree.”
The tree is on city property, and the Parks Department can choose to remove it, according to Con Edison, who replied to Jeremy's tweet. It is up to the city to decide whether to remove the tree to avoid any potential damage it may cause to surrounding power lines.

The tree is in very bad shape I walked by it yesterday it needs to come down.
Odd! When I lived in NYC (for 40 Years) the City waited until the street trees fell over and killed some innocent pedestrian or motorist. Had I known then that good ol' Con (the public) Edison was in charge of them, I would have had the death trees trimmed or taken down by them. Now you know who to turn to New Yorkers, Con Edison!
Looking at Google Street View photo of the tree from last July, there is one limb that is mostly dead.
Wonder if they're going to just remove that one limb, or if the whole tree will be removed.
Looks like the tree is goosing him.
No, Dummy! Trees can't move. The man is goosing himself on the tree.
Cross street or address?
Finally a true Queens Hero spotlighted on the crap.
Save the tree.
Leave the tree. Cut down the degenerate nihilist standing in front of it.
First time I've seen a Hedgehog out in broad daylight. The address is 61-24 Bell Blvd.
Good ol Ron Jeremy gettin' himself some wood...

Chinese own the home so the tree doesn't stand a chance in hell to be saved.
Ron needs somebody to take a healthy cuttings of the tree and run them down to Garden World or Queens farm down the street and have them place it in rooting hormone.
-This will clone the tree, when it takes root he can take it home and re-plant.
Its spring (no fall seed pods) so it the only way I know of.
Even at his age, he has a woody.
All good laughs. Thanks guys
