HOW DID WE GET HERE?
On August 15, 2018 Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office announced a plan to close the Rikers Island jail, replacing it with four gargantuan "jail" micro-cities in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, each borough except for Staten Island. The proposed Queens jail would be constructed adjacent to Borough Hall, at the junction of Kew Gardens, Forest Hills and Briarwood.

I signed it. But the government ALWAYS does what they want to do anyway. Just look at that horrid school they put up In the kiels brothers site. NOBODY wanted it there but the city did if anyways.

The ONLY reason that the school got built at the Keil Bros. site was because Paul Vallone voted in favor of it. The local Councilmember has effective veto power over land use decisions. The prison is going through because Karen Koslowitz - the local Councilmember in Kew Gardens - thinks it's great.

that is because your civics suck, your press sucks, your politicians suck and electorate sucks. take a look what is happening in the other boroughs and see how they run rings around you queens. they run roughshod over you because they know they can get away with it.
learn to do things differently. you always seem to make the wrong step at the worst time and have a bad habit of stealing defeat from the jaws of victory again and again by falling apart if they look at you cross-eyed. start to be independent of the machine is your first step. stop being so goddamn polite.
Vote at the booth. Change parties. This is not an individual politician thing. It's a party priority. Do a right turn at the polls. Get your lives back.
I've attempted civil discourse and to proclaim my rights as a New York City resident, but whenever I have called the offices of Melinda Katz and Joseph Addabbo, both as a constituent, I have gotten hung up on because of arrogant, entitled and harassing cronies who are protected for conduct like this, which used to end in termination.
I can't even get an appointment for a face-to-face meeting with my representatives over serious matters. The curb in front of my house has been damaged by the DOT (since October, 2017), when my street was repaved and the entire curb was left damaged and broken into large chunks of heavy, jagged concrete (I have these pieces as evidence kept in my garage). This is what taxation WITHOUT representation looks like, and the system is so completely diseased with rot and decades of decay, that nothing matters anymore——hence, the reason why these politically failed representatives are confident enough to take license to hang up the telephone on me.
And, you think that I, a willfully ignored plebeian, could have any persuasive effect on this unconscionable jail proposal, when my own representatives wouldn't open up investigations that were warranted on serious matters like my city pension that was abrogated? Queens Crap and the empowered idiots of this ravaged, crippled city of bonded slaves and indentured, blue-and-white collar servants, can all F**K OFF, forevermore! You are ALL a collective waste of skin, depleting the Earth of precious oxygen.
THERE IS NO DEMOCRACY and MERITOCRACY in a city that is now completely government by neo-feudalism, neo-fascism, corporate fascism, neo-Bolshevism and neo-liberalism, where any single ONE of these life-and-youth-destroying crimes against humanity would be egregious enough——and, we've got it ALL!

When I meant NOBODY I meant by nobody who actually lives in that community. But the politicians do what they want anyway no matter what the taxpayers have to say.
Well let it get built in this neighborhood, they have to join in the share of what other Queens neighborhoods are going through - all the hotels being built now will eventually become homeless housing
