Huge project proposed for Anable Basin

A longtime Long Island City property owner is seeking a waterfront rezoning that will allow it to bring a 5.8 million gross square foot mixed-use development to the area surrounding Anable Basin, just north of the Hunter’s Point South redevelopment.

Under the proposal by Plaxall Realty, 14.7 acres would be rezoned to accommodate 5,000 condos and rentals, 335,000 square feet of creative production and light manufacturing space, 3.1 acres of public waterfront esplanade, and up to 30,000 square feet of community space. It would also bring a 700-plus seat public school to the neighborhood, outside of the rezoning area.

Any real estate related controversy brewing or currently happening in your neighborhood?

They are ongoing. But the townies (Kenny Neon...) have essentially lost. Which means the old-timer LICers are basically few and their complaints are increasingly drowned out by all the fast, loud, rich new folks crawling around in search of lattes and private schools.

Nice if Queens Anti-Gentrification responds to this clown.

Even better if Astoria and Sunnyside and the rest of Queens, who are all in the crosshairs, asks their councilman for comments to these remarks.

But they wouldn't since it would spoil the 'opportunity' of participatory budgeting or getting refreshed parks that the same purposely let run down.

their basements below the top of the water table so they can grow rice there.

lets state that again

170 sq ft to a former toy manufacturer that donates to Jimmy Van Bramer for 1 sq ft for you and me - who pays the taxes not for our community, but for setting up a community of people that do not live here, and when they do move in, they will snidely call us Townies as they run around looking for dog watchers and latte coffees and schools for their little snots.

Thank God for brown fields and global warming.

Well they would but you have all those fake civics and cultural groups and civic groups that are on the party teat and the community board that is vetted by ... (roll of drums please) the party.

So if you want change, besides picketing Jimmy's house, you have to go after them too.
