I don't know why they weren't bulletproofed in the first place especially when you are planning to send one of those into the bronx. Going into the bronx alone is like a death wish. I don't even like driving through the bronx let alone sitting on a street over there parked.
Everyone will talk about this being a great idea in the next few weeks but when it comes to finding the funding for it the politicians will say no because they will want to spend the money on other "progressive" ideas.
I too am flummoxed that these command posts windows are not bulletproof, with the amount of money the city and state has gifted the NYPD for enforcing the law and surveillance (especially the latter) with and military vehicles and equipment from the pentagon they couldn't find a few hundred (or thousand knowing gov't billing) to reinforce the window. And they used these trailers for terror threats too.
I guess the costs from close to a billion dollars in settlements over the decades has taken it's toll.
The high brass are calling this an unprovoked shooting but I don't know about that. I know cops don't particularly like people questioning authority, but the killer did a lot of his time in prison over drug charges and whenever I use to see these command posts it was in area of interest for high drug dealing activity. And also people witnessed the killer loitering on a street corner with a bunch of guys earlier in the evening. It could be that this was more likely ordered than unprovoked. This murder reminds me of the Edward Byrne killing decades ago.
You can still put a bullet through the structure. It is covered by aluminum and vulnerable . Bullet resistant glass is not enough. The democRATS have vilified law enforcement starting with the whole hands up ,don't shoot lie. They have made it so the average person thinks any force used by cops is illegal. Remember the big push for body cams? Now as these cams show the savages and liberals for what they are,the clamor has faded fast.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt

That's right, lets militarize the police even further!
