My condolences, George. Nice use of "I'm with stupid" hands.
Does LPC know, or care?
I just don't get it.
Check out these 3 views of the front of the Mansion over the last 2 years HERE. The first two, 2015 & 2016, show - looking south along 41st Street - the grand front entrance of the Mansion. The last, 2017, shows the front entrance completely obliterated from view from the street by the newly-constructed warehouses. The only fairly decent extant street view of the Mansion now is from a skimpy vantage point seen HERE. And even that obliterates the bottom half of the building.
It seems to me that the Caliendo-design of Mansion and warehouses was flawed. A more pleasing aesthetic would have been NOT to construct the three 41st Street warehouses which are blocking the view and instead to have designed an extensive landscaping and thereby maintaining a clear view towards the Mansion. But I guess every dollar had to be squeezed out of the property with the Mansion now blocked from view except from the birds flying by.
So? All this extensive interior renovation is now going on for a building that can't be seen from the street.
If you ask me: a shameful artistic Queens disaster which we all have to now live with. The road to Hell is also paved with stupid intentions.
LPC? How about the community? - oh, you need to show coming of age films from the 3rd world, a comedy evening, and Peruvian fusion food for them to give a hoot.
Is he going through the motions of making a failed restaurant? Nothing like a failed restaurant with a gas line in the middle of nowhere.
George we need a collage of new signage in all those 'warehouses' that Pinnacle showed were budding hipster design centers (yea, Astoria will never be DUMBO).
I bet that half the "warehouses" are not even rented but leased.

When that is done, it's going to be a living daily parody of the entire hipshit zeitgeist of social networking gathering bullshit. The mansion will only serve as a backdrop for their instagram or flicker photo collections which will be taken from the roofs of those atrocious warehouses.
These people don't give a damn about history or anything, they are overdeveloped children, being coddled by avaricious, cynical old men and women in government positions.
I wonder where they are going to set up the giant life raft when they show some teenage B movie.

For the record we used to drive by as a goof back in the 70s at midnight to check out the Olds 98s and Caddys parked out front. Someone should come clean with stories about "the largest hot tub on the East Coast" that Halberian used to brag.

The Caliendoization of Astoria - condos and warehouses. What's he got in store for the Dulcken House? Basic functional necessities with a style taken from a comic book.
Look at the design of those damn warehouses in George's photo 3 from 2017 and compare that classic design to that of the overlying mansion.
Old Astoria has been ruined by architectural idiots like Caliendo.
Looks better then it did 5 years ago when trash piled the hill and no one cared about it.

Why didn't George the assiest and Bobo Singleton buy the house, they could have lived in that run down garbage dump happily ever after. George amazingly you don't show pictures of the garbage that used to surround that house. I hope he has a lot of pictures because I'm pretty sure that Bob Singelton will never ever see the inside of the house again!!
