"I just wrote this to Councilman Van Bramer and will be sharing the information with my neighbors. Just thought you might want to know how it feels to live in Long Island City for these last 7 years:
Councilman Van Bramer,
Here in Long Island City, we've come to learn that change is inevitable. The residents here have become used to construction, construction noise, construction vehicles blocking streets and traffic -- and we've also become used to our complaints being ignored by 311 or our local politicians and community boards.
On any given day in Long Island City there are probably 5 construction or demolition sites in any 5 block radius. It's happening. But now, not even weekends are immune to the disruption and noise...starting as early as 7am in the morning on a Sunday with and without official permits.
Complaints to 311 are ineffective. However, according to 311, "after-hours noise" is "Monday to Friday before 7:00 AM or after 6:00 PM, or anytime on Saturday or Sunday without special authorization."
Sure, we can blame the developers and the inconsiderate and shady construction and demolition companies (who are most certainly non-union). But whoever is making the rules granting "special authorization" for weekend work is a blight on this neighborhood. Who are the enforcers of the rules? Because they are certainly absent on the weekends.
Can you help? The quality of life of the residents of Long Island City is being held hostage by these companies. And there is no end in sight." - Eileen

Eileen, buck up bunny.
There are gender issues that are more pressing - people must be free! - and the illegal immigrant that defines the American Dream (and right political party support) is the very essence of our nation and society.
Sorry, but you are paying a small price for a wonderful future. People are making money off those projects - is that not a pillar of our society?, all those American drop box addresses for shadowy foreign oligarchs in Manhattan need housing for proles to maintain them, so just calm down and witness the unfolding epic of America that is surrounding you.
And if need be, you can go to the Queens Library and see party approved programming for the masses or get a fine meal from one of the money laundering LLCs that have taken over your commercial districts.
This letter will be read by one of Jimbrowski's interns and thrown in the trash. Which won't be that offensive when you know that it will be in the green recyclable can.
It's quite obvious why the elected democrats are so gung ho supporting the illegal immigrant communities and want to protect them. For they are building the towers that will soon be used as safety deposit boxes for illegal foreign cash.
he will never answer JVB he could care less -- it is all about the money in his pockets -- good luck with this -- but we the constitutents thank you for posting this in Queens Crap hopefully something good will come out of this -
Ever notice JVB NEVER includes nothing but complementary comments on his Twitter? Tweets all day long with huggy-feeley pics, but NEVER has even ONE constituent saying ANYTHING remotely derogatory towards either his (lack) of efforts or complaints existing in his district - think his twitter site is rigged!
Last anon, Even Mario's son keeps his critical tweets on his feed. Like the hilarious feed of disgruntled people demanding he fix the subway while he was touting the electric car testing approval.
You have all of our respect because you care about the present and future of your neighborhood. Let's see if the honorable elected will actually do something about it.
A real snob. Doesn't even want to talk with his local constituents outside on the sidewalk.
Anon on JVB twitter - just had a gander - not a bad word spoken - except RESIST - resist what? Parties over pink pussy hat. A pink panther hanging in LIC is NOT something I want my taxes paying for - but anon - you're right - not a word about potholes on his silly hug everyone Twitter site nor a discouraging word.
Jimmy, hey Jimmy, wake up man!
Vote the bum out of office already !
I don't know where you got that photo Crappy, but it is by far the smuggest Van Bramer photo to date.
JVB should move to San Francisco. they could sure use him there !!
